that made my night.

Everyneurotic 07.08.2007 10:49 PM

super roots 10?

krastian 07.08.2007 11:08 PM

Holy fucking fuckiddy fuck-fuck.

I just got done watching those clips from the YouTube and wow.....what an aural and visual assault.

It should be interesting to see the different recordings that pop up because (depending on where they were recorded) they could sound slightly different depending on which drummer or two was the closest to where the recorder was sitting.....their fills would obviously be more discernible than others.

Just think if all of the sets were mic'd!!! Now that be an insane recording!!!

I'm glad to see the confirmation from Chabib that there will in fact (*crosses fingers) be an offical dvd release of this.....it should be pretty awesome footage because you can see from the YouTube stuff a guy snaking his way through the drumpit throughout the performance.....fucking right, man.

I wonder if anyone got any aerial shots of this?? Those would be pretty wild to see. Surely some more pics will surface in the next few days.

m^a(t)h 07.09.2007 12:08 AM

haha i m sorry but this thing seems retarded, its bad enough hearing one drummer do a stupid little solo thing....

krastian 07.09.2007 12:09 AM

It wasn't one massive solo.....it was conducted and had several impressive ebbs and flows. Just thinking about it gives me the heebie jeebies.

Concrete Abutments 07.09.2007 12:27 AM

Aerial video was definitely shot. If you look at some of the clips on YouTube and even the two posted on Google, you can see a scissor lift in the background at times depending on the position of the person with the camera. That's where the aerial video was happening!

Everyneurotic 07.09.2007 12:29 AM

nothing the boredoms do can be retarded.

that's not totally true, but just because it's retarded doesn't mean it can't be awesome.

you just don't like drums, huh? bad experience with NYPD and a drumstick? maybe a timpani mallet?

Everyneurotic 07.09.2007 01:41 AM

genius all the way, even when on the surface seems retarded.

i had 6 HD cameras, 2 high end DV cameras, a 43' scissor lift, lipstick cams on some of the drum kits and shooters who i really fucking hope took my direction... i also shot the rehearsals. yoshimi made me wear the frog costume i wore in the peace attack video while i filmed from within the spiral.

Moshe 07.09.2007 06:46 AM

and how did you capture the audio of all these drums?

magic.

Tokolosh 07.09.2007 07:50 AM

Looks very cool. Corsano should've been on that list.

SYRFox 07.09.2007 08:15 AM

Agreed! He did a great work with Death Unit

pokkeherrie 07.09.2007 08:16 AM

Corsano lives in Scotland now though, so that's pretty far away.

found a review here:

Apart from his usual synths/samplers/etc eYe was playing 7 guitars at once it seems... or maybe not really "playing" them as much as just hitting the strings or whatever.

I hope you'll be using that magic also in the editing and finishing chabib! (if you're the one who's going to do that at least)

nicfit 07.09.2007 08:20 AM

I can't even imagine the amount of editing this thing will need (and deserves)...

chabib 07.09.2007 09:08 AM

well, there's 46 hours of footage so far and i still have some interviews left to shoot.

nicfit 07.09.2007 09:14 AM

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I just hope it won't be released as a superlimited edition or something too hard to get a copy of....

Oh, Chabib, while you're "here" could you sticky this thread http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/showthread.php?t=11867 , pretty please?
