Tons of R.E.M. live shows.

Man, when they were good, they were very very very very good.

But listening to one from 2005, it was clear how exhausted they became. The playing is fine, just no energy or enthusiasm. And quite a few crap songs on the setlist.

But whatever. The best shows (up to 1989 or so) are about as best as best gets.

Not necessarily about R.E.M. in particular, but often times when fans think
of songs in the setlist as crap it is actually the opposite, and the band
felt them very important or meaningful. Its an ironic disconnect that comes up in interviews and comments about certain less-well-received material.. Bands are often surprised to find out what is considered crap by their fans.

Thee Oh Sees : Singles Collection Volume 3

A compilation, so we start from scratch with every new song, without a real fluency.

It has their SY cover of Burning Spear, a bouncy one conveying the menace the original bore.

I love how Bertrand has the coolest picture of Pauly Shore ever as his avatar ;)

i just heard it on radio and cant get enough. though it is bit poppy, but great job on sound and the drummer rules in my opinion. Midlake is name of the band.

I really want to get that. Judging by what the band has churned out over the last few years, it should be their best singles comp yet.
