yes, they played better but they lost their shit in the penalties-- 3 times. that counts for something... uruguay without fucile and suarez and maybe without godin and lugano is going to be in deep shit before holland, who will likely move on to the final. |

ghana tried plenty of filthy stuff including a dive in the penalty area (that uruguay soon followed). the rules were applied, suarez committed suicide to save that ball. winners win first and apologize later-- his stunt paid off though it cost him a card and the penalty (last minute? good gamble). on a related video, check this out for hilarity-- has a commercial and the video is not good but wait for the close shot http://www.metacafe.com/watch/171287/hand_ball/ |

Yeah, and even without the suspensions that game will've taken a helluva lot out of them, both physically and mentally. |

yah i don't get what's filthy by it? he knew the penalty for it. and the ref saw it and sent him off. Ghana blew it on PKs... sucks to go out that way, but it happens
|
Exactly, it's a professional decision. If I were a Uruguayan and Suarez hadn't done what he did, I'd have gone mental.

ghana may feel bad but probably not as bad as paris hilton does right now:

Tell that to the Ghanaians. |
Given what happened, I imagine the Ghanaians would be the first to agree with Ikara.

Amsterdam exploded after the game yesterday.
I hope you partied as hard as we did, pokkeherrie! The pubs were playing Brazilian samba all night long. Brasil! La La La La La La La La... La La La La La La La La... La La La La La La La La. Vai para casa, Brazil! |
I'm seriously psyched for the germany/argentina game in the morning. I'm gonna wake up before noon for the first time in weeks to watch this shit. it's gonna be epic.
|
yeah, even more than the Holland-Brazil game, I think the Germany-Argentina game is gonna be fascinating.
|
GERMANY - ARGENTINA, people!
they better provide |
I just love the drama that has unfolded the past few games. the ghana/uruguay game was pure epic. I didn't give a shit about either team but that was by far the most exciting game yet. here's to hoping the germany/argentina match is gonna be just as epic if not more.

Possibly. I had a massive hangover this morning and noticed that the jeans I wore yesterday have been practically ripped in half. I can't believe I didn't even notice this happening last night. |

Why so sour? You should be happy, knox. Imagine what it had meant for the future of your beloved Brazilian football if Dunga had grabbed the cup with his squad of 23 defensive midfielders. Here's your chance to bring back the samba for 2014! First half Brazil completely outplayed Holland, but they really only have themselves to blame for their loss. Not finishing it off in the first half, sloppy lazy defending, crap goalkeeping, lack of concentration, Filipe Melo's lack of discipline (what did I say before the game about him kicking Robben, huh?)... and after Holland got that somewhat unexpected and lucky equaliser the Brazilians couldn't keep their nerves, meaning they couldn't have been all that strong mentally. I think this is where the Dutch squad has made a huge progression in the last few years. Remember this is largely the same squad who completely lost their heads in that kicking contest with Portugal during the 2006 World Cup. Brazil scored some awesome goals this World Cup (Maicon vs the commies, Luis Fabiano vs CIV), but I haven't admired their play other than that one game vs Chile and their first half vs the Netherlands. Argentina have been so much more fun to watch.... and yes, believe it or not, Holland really did consider themselves the underdog yesterday. Unique chance of reaching the final now. Uruguay will probably be really difficult as they're very well organised defensively and only conceded two goals so far, but I fancy our chances. I still consider Argentina and Spain the favourites to win the final. Can't wait for Argentina v Germany today! |
I missed Brazil/Netherlands yesterday due to personal business. The second game though unbelievable the emotional swings I went through were incredible. I couldn't believe that Gyan missed the PK. Hats off to him for stepping up there and burying the first one in the shootout. How Muslera wasn't man of the match after stopping 2 in the shootout beyond me.
Well my adopted team is moving on I believe they aren't done and will beat the Dutch even shorthanded. |
Poor Argentina to have a world class team saddled with a sandlot goalie. All he had to do was move and he would have had Muller's header for pete's sake the ball hit him. I expect him to give up another in the second half so Argentina's going to need three.
Tevez quickly becoming the most annoying player of the tournament with his constant whining and flopping. |
you've most definitely grown to be a proper football fan, haven't you chicka? :) nice to see someone from a football non-friendly nation get so enthusiastic.
anyways, Argentina need to get their shit together. |
huge hole in the argentinian defense, leaving klose alone, fucked up
and chicka, tevez is awesome man-- he runs all 90 minutes plays everywhere fights every ball he's amazing |
Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
|
Yeeeeeeeessssssss.
|
two words:
FUCKING PWNT |
maradona had a fucking terrible scheme that left the midfield completely open on the defense. messi was nowhere (cold, whatever, who the fuck knows). maradona is going to be shitcanned unless everyone is on crack.
klose was as always awesome. |
seriously, I can't believe he just left that shit open.. and even after halftime when he could've reconfigured his defense situation.
|
lol at Brazil and Argentina getting exposed once they play decent teams. Germany is so good. my French Canadian cousin owes me a Muller jersey now because he was so sure Argentina was gonna win... and I told him Muller would pick apart that d. Ozil, Schweinsteiger, and Podolski were great too. Klose has a nose for the goal and unselfish team mates. great day for Germany
|
my wish has been granted
bye argentina |
There may very well be a European final after all.
Next! :-) |

I agree with what you say about Tevez as he is one of the players I knew before this got started from watching the English Premier league but he is a crybaby you can't deny that. Your right _Slavo_ I'm hooked. The constant action is the biggest reason then of course the fact that the hardest thing to do is score a goal and I must give big props to Ian Darke he is so refreshing to listen to with all his anecdote for the actions and the fact that unlike American announcers he doesn't fondle himself over the Superstars of the game..... |

Tevez was whining today but it's not something I generally associate him with. His midfield weren't giving him anything to feed off today and when they did he was continually frustrated by Germany's brilliant midfield/defence, so I suspect he was more frustrated with his own team and himself than anything else. It was disappointing to see him whine the way he did but that's largely because it's not something I generally associate him with. The words 'Tevez' and 'crybaby' certainly aren't ones that I'd typically associate with each another. You'd have to admit he's never like that in the Premiership. |
yeah Tevez is not one of those Drogba/Ronaldo types
