If you spot an old man with two young women and a young man all in their twenties and the old fart is wearing an ASH colored t-shirt with the saying

Keene DAD State in red letters

you're looking at me. :)

Cool...if anyone sees a tall girl wearing a shirt with Snoopy and Woodstock eating ice cream and dripping it every damn where...yep.

chicka 08.10.2011 01:37 PM

roughly 53 hours till

The Greatest Show on Earth

jnic 08.10.2011 09:28 PM

I'm really getting frackin' pumped here!!! Here's to hoping for a 90 minute set. My personal request is Unwind. The crescendo to the end get's me every time I hear it.

krastian 08.10.2011 10:28 PM

I have a feeling this is going to be a great show.....really wish I was going. It should be interesting to see what "new" songs they bust out.

Did you get a reply? This show wasn't on nyctaper's schedule last time i checked. Hopefully he just hasn't gotten around to update it.

"Skip Tracer" and "Drunken Butterfly" are possibilities. They've played
those this decade, but not with Mark in the band. "Sugar Kane," "Kill Yr Idols," I'm sure I'm forgetting several.

SuperCreep 08.11.2011 02:41 PM

didn't thurston mention something about wanting to re-learn "dirty boots" in some interview last year?

I did not get one.
I hope he does tape. I talked to him last year about the 7.31.10 Brooklyn show, which he wanted to tape, but could not get there. That was a loss.
Here's to Wish Fulfillment tomorrow!

Pretty sure "Skip Tracer" has been played with Mark Ibold in the band. There are recordings from 2007 that include it. If i have the chance to look into my archives i can provide proof. Sonic Youth were supposed to play that one the last time they visited Mexico City, but either Thurston forgot how to play it (unlikely, as it had been performed already a few times during that tour), or he was given the wrong guitar; so they ended up playing "Mote" instead. Conclusion: They can't be teaching "Skip Tracer" to Mark, as he should be already familiar with it. Excellent news, either way.

SuperCreep 08.11.2011 03:05 PM

they did "skip tracer" at the battery park show.

hipster_bebop_junkie 08.11.2011 03:13 PM

"Skip Tracer" was performed at the show in Wiesbaden, Germany on June 16, 2007 as well (just another random example):

RanaldoNecro 08.11.2011 03:41 PM

hello 2015. I would guess Skip Tracer would be a hard song to learn in a short time. At least the guitar.

jennthebenn 08.11.2011 03:45 PM

Well slap me upside the head twice and call me Aunt Griselda. Thought it
had been gone from setlists for longer than that.
