Arent there a lot of stray cats wandering around in Greece? Go there. Go to the cats.

girlgun 03.09.2010 05:30 PM

WHY ARE TRAINS SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE?! WTF, POOKIE?

alteredcourse. i love the puss.

Pookie 03.09.2010 05:33 PM

What is it with you and trains? You're OBSESSED and starting to sound a little bonkers with all the gabble about trains.

Genteel Death 03.09.2010 05:40 PM

Greece and then Italy if you like art that still means shit. France and Irland for pretentious people who are boring. UK only Scotland, Wales and London. The rest is all shit. Unless you're wise and send the family to Mexico.

girlgun 03.09.2010 05:40 PM

thank you for addressing my question in a passive aggressive manner, pookie.

meet me under the bleachers on 7-16-10 at 7 p.m..

Pookie 03.09.2010 05:45 PM

girlgun 03.09.2010 05:47 PM

yes. i'm well aware there's more to the UK than london, but if i went somewhere else in the UK it would be... manchester.

greece is going to be far less expensive than UK, right?

DO NOT GO TO MANCHESTER IT IS SHIT.

Bath, Oxford, Glasgow, Edinburgh - all places that tourists seem to like. Bangor or outer Sheffield if you like walking, Bristol if you like cities where I am, even fucking Liverpool (city of culture) or Newcastle are better than fucking Manchester.

The trains are expensive because you don't know the secrets of the elders of the trains. Some British people don't know the secrets. But I can say no more.

phoenix 03.09.2010 05:49 PM

ul(i'd totally go again, probably just not for as long this time), scotland, spain, italy, the netherlands, france, greece. Would be my ideal europe tour..

I vote for australia, though. :(

I really liked manchester. I did spend the mornings music/clothes/book shopping and the afternoons drinking though.. It doesn't take much.

phoenix 03.09.2010 05:52 PM

Without being really rude, everywhere is going to be expensive to americans, because america is cheap as hell. Just go, ffs!

Glice 03.09.2010 05:52 PM

In fairness, I've had some great nights on Canal Street [fnarr, fnarr]. I've just always found it depressing and revolting away from the pink economy.

Pookie 03.09.2010 05:54 PM

Talking of Greece, we have a new kitten and I wanted to call him Hercules.

girlgun 03.09.2010 05:56 PM

They give the world cutlery, and this is how you repay them?

Genteel Death 03.09.2010 06:00 PM

Why go to Manchester when Romford on a Friday night is not too far on a cab from vaguely attractive people?

Not 'spensive. Borderline cheap. It cost me 3k to get myself to the uk. International to me(with the exception of nw zlnd) means allow at least 2k for flights.

girlgun 03.09.2010 06:17 PM

i realize that's it not a big deal having to pay for one person. but it's a lot when you have to pay for 3 people.

phoenix 03.09.2010 06:19 PM

flights don't count anyways. They are the forgettable part.

Toilet & Bowels 03.09.2010 06:19 PM

$4500 is a lot for three people to fly to europe from the states, surely you must be able to get cheaper flights?
although having said that i haven't looked at the prices of those sort of flights in probably 8 years

Just saying. You guys both work.. And it's less than what it costs to fly out of this place even if you only divide it by two...

phoenix 03.09.2010 06:22 PM

didn't say it wasn't a big deal having to pay for one person though.. Or two or three, just discussing cost vs country..

Don't forget people will pay a lot more to travel from the US than to it.

knox 03.09.2010 06:23 PM

I do not know where you're leaving from, but on average you should be able to get less than a 1,000 per person flying US airways.

that makes sense, like how australians seem willing to pay thousands of dollars to visit countries that have some culture

That is because you are far away from everything?

Pretty much. Occasionally i can get bargain flights to nz or japan, thailand, few hundred $. For the most part though leaving this place is a costly trek.

Toilet & Bowels 03.09.2010 06:28 PM

if i found myself in australia i'd sell my grandparents to get out of there

that's another problem. it's ALWAYS a lot more expensive flying out of OKC. but! i checked out of dallas and it's worth the extra $$ to fly from home.
