Yeah, saying something like "trend whoring" makes more sense, but "trend stealing" seems to me to mean that being trendy isn't bad as long as its your own trend. Like someone hipster from Williamsburg would accuse someone from somewhere else of stealing their trend.

Obviously there's some crazy universalized hipster projection going on when assuming that wearing an article of clothing with facial hair is indicative of a desire to be actively trend-setting.

Ha ha. I'm not exactly on the runways in Paris. But I likes my clothes. A vice I've picked up, it seems. Keeps me out of the schoolyards.

im sad that flannel just now has to come back. i was wearing flannel at least once a week up until a couple of years ago when I gained weight and decided to throw my raggie old flannels out. i should have just put them in storage :-(

Keeping It Simple 12.04.2009 04:50 PM

Hipsters are abominations.

wellcharge 12.04.2009 06:03 PM

flannel is a must

fly the flannel

gmku 12.04.2009 07:22 PM

flannel flucking rocks

Satan 12.04.2009 07:28 PM

i hate flannel.

gmku 12.04.2009 07:29 PM

That's sad. And un-American.

wellcharge 12.04.2009 07:29 PM

if you hate flannel you hate me, what the fuck did i ever do to you?

Satan 12.04.2009 07:48 PM

it just reminds me of lumberjacks and butch lesbians. i used to wear flannel shirts and then i was like "wait a second i look like a truck driver"

flannel sheets are just the worst.

wellcharge 12.04.2009 07:50 PM

man. you're killing me, i worked at a lumber yard before, but it was too cold for flannel so yr stereotypes are way off there

Seandi 12.04.2009 07:51 PM

I hate flannel and think highly of Satan. Flannel sheets get gross and pilly/lumpy. And whatnot.

lol. What a noobie. Trust me, the day will come when this will turn around, i.e., in case the subtle sarcasm of my remark is missed, you'll prefer even flannel over Satan.

Sounds rough indeed.

gmku 12.04.2009 08:29 PM

Just consider this fair warning.

Seandi 12.04.2009 08:30 PM

J Crew....

gmku 12.04.2009 08:30 PM

Heil, J. Crew!

gmku 12.04.2009 08:34 PM

Nah, in reality, Satan's one of my fave SY-ers. But I'd still prefer flannel over her any day.

If you took the fun part out of sleeping on a gravel driveway and set what's left over to music, the result would be Arcade Fire.

gmku 12.04.2009 08:36 PM

Ha ha. Yes!

i don't think so, because arcade fire isn't a bad experience so much as a.....non experience, like you might as well not exist

I exist, they may as well not.

SonikJesus 12.10.2009 01:59 AM

Yeah, flannel is everywhere now. I used to wear flannel all the time in high school up until it came back. People used to tell me i looked like a lumberjack. Now you can buy 'em at all the trendy stores and I can't stand to wear mine anymore.

Rob Instigator 12.10.2009 10:27 AM

maybe it is just because it is wintertime in the northern hemisphere?

dale_gribble 12.11.2009 03:51 AM

a hipster is just a conformist that doesn't know it or denies it.
