Fair enough. :)

I used to go to all the intramural rugby matches my university played back in the day. Those guys were NUTS. they had kegs on the sideline too, free!

EVOLghost 12.29.2009 02:06 AM

All I have to say is Fuck you Chicago Bears. YOu play like shit for most of the season and now totally kick ass in Minnesota. wtf.

GeneticKiss 12.29.2009 02:26 AM

GO STEELERS!!! WE CAN STILL MAKE IT!!! And after the season, let's cut Big Ben. He's turning into such a douchebag.

I am SO disappointed the Saints and Colts have had losses in the past few weeks. Since each team is in a different conference, they could've gone all the way with 2 undefeated teams in the Super Bowl. Two teams not just battling for the title of "champion", but for a spot in NFL history. It would not've been just the Super Bowl; it would've been the ULTRA Bowl.

Oh well. There's always next season.

Rob Instigator 12.29.2009 09:30 AM

I am so pissed the colts rested people. fucking colts. if they had beat the JETS my Texans would stand a much much better chance of getting in the fucking playoffs!!!!!

chicka 12.29.2009 02:38 PM

Well my Giants are out if it and the Steelers have one hand on the ledge the other hanging off. From what I've seen this year I believe it's going to be

Chargers vs. Cardinals

It appears as though Norm Turner finally figure out how to get out of the way and the Cardinals don't always seem to come to play defense. When
the Cardinals clamp down defensively no one in the nfc can beat them.

FreshChops 01.26.2010 12:00 AM

there you have it.......

one more to go!

Rob Instigator 01.26.2010 10:21 AM

Saints VERSUS Colts. man I admire Payton manning but I hate the COLTS! TRhey always beat my texans!

Go Saints

chicka 01.26.2010 12:50 PM

definitely a good matchup not the one I wanted but hey who am I. I'll be pulling for the Saints as I've always been a big Colston fan. Always grab him in the second or third round of fantasy.
Early money heavily on the Colts the opening line was 3 1/2 yesterday already 5 1/2 today. 2 point swing is huge at this rate game time might be 7/7 1/2. If you like the Saints hold your bet until game time.

Keeping It Simple 01.26.2010 04:00 PM

I couldn't help but notice that the Super Bowl is to be played Feb 7th. Why so late?

EVOLghost 01.26.2010 06:44 PM

??? The superbowl has been played that weekend for a couple of years now....I remember because it falls on my b-day weekend.

When I used to watch the Super Bowl, I remember it being played in January.

Rob Instigator 01.27.2010 10:38 AM

a few years back they added a "bye" week to the season, which makes it 17 weeks long instead of 16. each team gets a week off to rest and heal.

This extended the season.

also, they made it a TWO week break between the NFC and AFc championships and the super bowl. otherwise, it would be played this sunday.

chicka 01.27.2010 01:36 PM

they've always had the two week break to build up the hype and to sell shit.
Like Rob said extended the season for the in-season byes moved out to February. Shit when they first started this it was at the beginning of January because the season was only 12 weeks long. Only 4 teams per league made the playoffs the season didn't start till the end of September. Times they have changed. Baseball used to rule back then

Rob Instigator 01.27.2010 01:38 PM

baseball is dying, and not soon enough for me,.

Baseball was dead to me after I watched the Marlins sell off their entire roster after winning a world series. I hate baseball. When people say its "a game of numbers" really they are referring to paychecks. Thats the only thing that matters in the game.

I was hoping to see Vikings/Colts for the Super Bowl. I even thought the Vikings would win. But need I remind everyone the record Favre is most known for? Not career or season, or franchise TDs or Yards passed, or wins, or playoff appearances, but interceptions. He had the most career interceptions I think 4 or 5 years ago. But apparently Favre wasnt satisfied with quanity, no. Favre needed a quality, the creme de creme of interceptions to end his career. Easily one of the worst throws/plays/ideas I have ever seen on the pitch. Throwing on 3rd down, within in field goal range, with less than 20 seconds left in a tie game. Run the ball, let your kicker win the game.

Arrogance was the downfall of Favre. He can only blame himself.

Rob Instigator 01.28.2010 09:51 AM

arrogance and the fear of getting hit.
ha!
This could be the highest scoring super bowl ever

The sad part about favre is that he has made that same stupid play before!

chicka 01.28.2010 12:54 PM

If he was afraid to get hit Rob he would have taken himself out of that game.
Disgusting how many late hits they hit him with. He got hit 16 times in that game without a sack and only one roughing the QB call? Cmon

Rob Instigator 01.28.2010 01:01 PM

he had it coming.

chicka 01.28.2010 01:02 PM

Baseball isn't dying it's making another comeback. Baseball will never die it's cheap enough for a family of four to attend. To many little leagues, babe ruth, and so on up the ladder to keep the kids interested.

chicka 01.28.2010 01:05 PM

Hey I'm sick of them treating them with dresses on but I'll betcha if they hit brees like that we'd of had a few more yellow flags. Not to mention if it was Peyton on my god they'd have arrested some of those lineman. There was only one hit that I had a problem with the guy hit him from behind below the knees cheap cheap.

I think Favre was defeated before he even threw the int. He took so much abuse the whole game, I think he couldn't take one more hit. His int. was due to shoty nerves and a whole host of B&G down the field eager to pursue him (again). I do also agree with the arrogance though, and yes, he forced game-killers more often than not. It's what you get with Favre, a little bit of "magic" and a whole bunch of "uh oh".

Oh well, good game though, but it was the Saints time, and even though the Saints had less time of possession, and inferior stats, they clearly wanted it more as their intensity level trumped Viks

BS on the intensity the Vikings offense pushed them all over the field only to explode time after time 5 TO's and they still forced the game to overtime.
The Vikings defense held the Saints down the entire 2nd half. It may have been the Saints time but the Vikings handed it to them on a gold platter

cars_willkillyou 02.08.2010 04:10 AM

And the Saints fulfill prophecy,

chicka 02.08.2010 05:10 PM

congrats to the Saints and all their fans. Hats off to Sean Peyton. The guy coached the game balls to the wall. An onside kick before the 4th quarter
all the gurus must have been choking on that one. Once again Peyton comes up empty in the big one....

Seandi 02.08.2010 05:46 PM

agreed

!@#$%! 02.08.2010 05:53 PM

i don't know what the fuck you guys talking about but i watched the game yesterday in a mild state of inebriation and it was great to see new orleans kick the ass of the... what's the name of the other team? yeah.

Seandi 02.08.2010 05:55 PM

a'right..... I'm done posting pictures here (promise)!

FreshChops 09.01.2010 12:25 AM

worth dredging up with the season right around the corner.....

I kinda like the way things turned out for the Saints all the while I kept this thread alive... so here's to back-to-back Super Bowl winning seasons.

So far this preseason we've seen our young backup QB, Chase Daniel show enough talent and pose to back Drew Brees if needed and watch out for our rookie RB, Chris Ivory.

Youth_Against_Facism 09.01.2010 06:04 AM

Pssh. NFL is a game for the weak. ;)
