leaky lifeboat

wha? people don't like leaky lifeboat? i was hooked as soon as i heard it
|
"Leaky Lifeboat" is one of my favorites on there. The harmonics at the
beginning and end, the dual vocals, the fact it's dedicated to a great fucking poet... |

I don't really hate it, I'd just say it's the one I like the least, alongside Thunderclap (which I prefer musically but don't like in terms of vocals/lyrics).
|
I think all the songs are good on the Eternal, so this is a hard one, but I'll vote for No Way just because it's the least fresh sounding.

I agree with Jen and you, this is one of the best songs on there. I love when kim goes, lalalala la la, fucking great You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to jennthebenn again. |
I don't dislike Leaky Lifeboat... it's just the one that I like least on the album.

I'm shocked that it's getting this many votes. |
Leaky Lifeboat is frickin' awesome! In my opinion it's one of the best songs on the album.
My vote goes to Sacred Trickster |
I'm going to go with "Antenna" though I like the song. I at least like them all though.
|
fuck you all, is all I can say :p
|
fuck fuck fuck

calming the snake
|
Antenna.
I don't dislike it but it's my least favourite. |
Antenna is one of my faves! Doesn't exactly sound like SY but I friggin' love it.
|
I totally want to recall my choice, but then I don't know what I'd put in it's place. That said, I don't honestly think any of the songs on this album will be among my ALL TIME FAVORITES, but they're all really solid rock tunes with great guitar noises. This album should have been the follow up to Nurse, because it really is like Sonic Youth bursting free from the layered stuff they did with O' Rourke (which I love entirely on a different level) and letting it rock hard.
|
"No Way" is my least favorite. But it's marginal. THe album is brilliant.

thunderclap
i assume winner will be massage the history... |
No Way
Because I do wanna know who gets the highest score. heh In general, this is a fairly weak album for Thurston. His songwriting and playing are all just kinda blah throughout. Some of his singing is nice, some not so much. Antenna, however, is grand. I don't know who wrote each song, but T's Antenna and Lee's Walkin' Blue are among some of their finest songs to date. |
It's sad to say but there are a lot of song that I don't like at all on this eternal stuff. But, the least of the least are "malibu gas station" "thunderclap" and this horrible "leaky lifeboat".
|
For me, Thunderclap would be the first to go.
I also can't understand why Leaky Lifeboat is getting so much dis. It's a fun, snappy little tune that doesn't immediately sound like anything they've done before. Some of the other tunes on this record are really good, but are reminiscent of previous work. |
I think part of my dislike of Thunderclap is that I know it's about Darby Crash, and the feel of that song has nothing in common with my image of him. Maybe that shouldn't matter, but it does.

some of y'allz crazy, srsly.
