GZA then Rae then Ghost then ODB. Does anyone else think most of the tracks of GZA's latest are solid?
|
It took me the longest time before I could tell RZA and GZA apart on the albums.

strange considering they sound nothing alike? |
Yeah, but I wasn't focusing on who was who. I didn't know what everyone sounded like except for Meth and ODB
|
It took me quite a while to pin down Inspectah Deck. That dude is seriously under-rated. Seriously.
|
ghostface, hands down.

Whatever you guys, cause everyone knows the best was Redman.

I so totally hope you are making some sort of joke here. |
Redman is my favorite MC of all time, and I do know people who thought
he was in Wu Tang. |
Yes, I was kidding.
Although I did go to school with people who thought he was in Wu-tang. When I tried to prove that he wasn't, they would say "Well then why did Method Man and Redman do so much together?" Ridiculous. |
I found a Redman LP the other day for pretty cheap. He was wearing a north face jacket on the cover which I thought was so ridiculous and amazing. Maybe I should go back and buy it. I still remember where I stashed it so nobody else would find it in the store.

Dare Iz A Darkside
Muddy Waters ...both incredible. |
Oh shit, Method Man, Redman, Ghostface Killah are playing close on July 22nd. $32
|
Dirt McGurk, GZA/Genius, the Meth, and RZA.
Word is bond. |
Cappadonna.

why? He's spit a handful of good verses I can think of. But his solo albums are weak. |
cuz i love the "Super Model" joint he did w/ Tony Starks & let's face it he added a third dimension to the "Purple Tape" & other Wu-Tang Posse Jamz.
its subjective though. it was b/w him & Rebel I.N.S. i mean if the criteria was best album i'd have to go w/ Lex Diamonds & the "Purple Tape"... |
Cappa was great on IRON MAN, so I had high hopes. But he's been so-so for years. I will say that his joints on 8th DIAGRAM were excellent though.
|
i'll put it to you like this: the title of this thread is FAVORITE MEMBER OF THE WU-TANG; obviously, early on, Method Man was the star or "first among equals," so from an objective standpoint, that case is the easiet one to make. but i was never a big fan of Meth or O.D.B so i wouldn't choose either as my "favorite."
|
you make a good point. When ENTER came out, it was ODB, Meth, RZA for me.
Now I'd probably say Ghost, MK, RZA. |
yes. i would definitely say that Masta Killa has the best overall turn-of-the-century post-aughties output. he just got progressively better as an emcee. & i think he most embodies the Wu-Tang asethetic now.

i liked his first one, the second one wasn't so hot though |
I guess I'd pick GZA or Ghostface on record.
But Method Man is hands down the best live performer and anyone who disagrees is wrong. |
Rae purely cos he told me I had the ghost of holy rap inside of me. I RULE

that'd persuade me, for sure |
ghostface no doubt, only one to remain viable throughout his entire career. most varied lyrical stylings too, from surrealist wierdo sputterings to highly detailed street narratives. if you ask me, "supreme clientele" and "fishscale" are the two best hip hop records of this decade, along with maybe the madvillain album and the second clipse album.
|
Alright, so then currently:
1. Ghost 2. MK 3. RZA |

yeah. one of my favorite lines of his "chicago spine-tingle mind-boggle" ha |

This is a fairly essential read. And since everybody's putting top threes.. 1. RZA 2. GZA 3. Inspectah Deck |

This is great, Danny! Also, there's this... http://www.prefixmag.com/features/wu...-albums/16433/ |
GAWD. HOW DO YOU CHOOSE?
since forced: GZA/RZA |
I always like that one old white guy in the group, I can't remember what his name was though...

I'm fairly sure B-Murr could bust a fat rhyme if so provoked.

Maybe ha because it's funny.

With his husky voice and the sound of him sucking his saliva back due to a legitimate drooling problem, the charismatic Method Man instantly becomes the most popular member of the crew.
