Yeah, the first copy I tried to download was just The Destroyed Room. I'm sure it's that.

But I give it a 9. It's not perfect, but it just hit the spot. It makes me realize how sub-par RR really was, and I liked RR.

I want to hear it a few times before I say what I really think.

it's definitely a grower. i didn't like poison arrow or what we know at first, but then i caught myself humming them one day. they're really really good songs

Malibu Gas Station I love it. This album is amazing!

I gave it an 8. The high points (Malibu Gas Station, Calming the Snake, Anti-Orgasm) are awesome. I love the bass line in Calming the Snake. However, I'm not a huge fan of Poison Arrow or Leaky Lifeboat.

A high 8. I like it, I love it, I want some more of it! It's marvelous and I can't wait to see them perform these songs live.

I've only listened to it once (via the stream on the front page-no money right now), but it just seems like too many of the songs sound pretty alike.

However, I will say its standouts (Sacred Trickster, Malibu Gas Station, Walking Blue, Massage the History) are some of the best SY tracks ever...

I gave it an 8. I'd give Nurse a 9 and Rather Ripped a 6 for comparison. 6 is as low as any Sonic Youth album goes with me. Bad Moon Rising is an 11.

well, for me it's still a difficult decision. i think a 7.5/10 would be a fair rating... guess i'll have to round it to 8/10.

I am loving the new material. I think it's great...not exactly what I had expected....but these guys can't let me down. I have too much respect for them to say any of there shit sucks. Maybe I'm just bad criticizing music....but man do I have love for these guys.

I gave this album a 8. I like, sometimes love it and appreciate how they keep it moving. Happy to see this band not make another shit record.

with each listen, I've found something else I love about it. My first listen was like "hmm. yeah. It's good." But now I have songs in my head all the time. And I keep returning to it. Over and over. I think it's excellent.

Massage the History is fantastic!!!!

I gots the double vinyl the other day, I felt I bought it out of duty or something as I wasn't expecting it to be mindblowing. Well, it wasn't, but instead it's pretty solid rock album. Lee's song are standing out, especially Walking Blue.
Better that rather ripped at least, that's a step forward, eh.
