Very, very cool. Hope you don't mind if I use this as my signature. It makes me lol every time i see it.

The Earl Of Slander 04.20.2009 08:01 AM

I just decided to say fuck everything, and bought a ticket. I don't have anyone to buy the other half of the twin room yet, which is partially why the doubt, but I'll find someone nearer the time. Can't miss up a chance to see Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine at the same fucking festival. And De La Soul! Also there's sure to be a ridiculous number of other awesome bands, considering the curators and how insane that ATP New York line up was last year. This will be my second time for the Yoof (saw them on the DDN tour), but first for MBV. December is so far away!

Mysterygirl 04.20.2009 05:36 PM

I am going to this too - yay! ATP Nightmare Before Xmas might be my favourite festival ever! I went to the last one (Mike Patton/Melvins) and had the most fun, it was December but sunshine, blue skies, walks on the beach, arcade games, Pizza Hut, late night whiskey-soaked shows in a bingo hall, swimming pool, crazy golf - i heart Butlins and music festivals! <3333

Anyway, getting a little over-excited and ahead of myself ;)

Just seeing the bands already announced is immense - it's gonna be outstanding :)

Danny Himself 04.22.2009 12:57 PM

OKAY WTF GUYS I AM GOING TOO LOL

amazing

blunderbuss 04.23.2009 10:15 AM

Don't forget, folks, that the second lot of lower-priced tickets go on sale tomorrow morning (only £10 per person off the full price this time).

so, and what if I wanted to buy a ticket without booking accomodation? is that possible?

blunderbuss 04.23.2009 10:43 AM

No.

That's the super-civilzed thing that makes ATP better than other festivals, the fact that accommodation is included. That and the fact that the music is tons better.

_slavo_ 04.23.2009 11:28 AM

Oh, so my plan that I'd stay with you and greenlight in a cottage, is thus ruined, isn't it?

The Lung 04.23.2009 03:39 PM

Think I will go to this even though it will be a busy time at uni. I don't expect the line up to be as good as 06 but it could still be good.

hey! have you been @ATP 2 years ago, when Thuston was curating?

blunderbuss 04.24.2009 03:52 AM

_slavo_ : You'd better start looking at the prices of flights, you're coming to England in December.

_slavo_ 04.24.2009 04:04 AM

Ok, I'm in, now it's official.

Y E A H !!!

blunderbuss 04.24.2009 05:47 AM

_slavo_ : yr PM inbox is full

When you look at flights, check for Bratislava to Bristol on Ryanair. They fly out on Friday and back on Monday, and it would be much less hassle than Bratislava to Stansted, and possibly cheaper too.

sounds good, but i doubt tickets to Bristol would ever be cheaper than those ones to London.
I'll take a look at it. thanks for the tip anyhow.

greenlight 04.24.2009 09:58 AM

that is so cool you are going _slavo_.

uhmmm, where should I fly then blunderbuss? I would gladly pay for a petrol, but we should synchronize ourselfs with Slavo. at least same airport.

blunderbuss 04.24.2009 10:54 AM

^
Wait and see where Slavo is going to fly to before you make any plans.

greenlight 04.24.2009 05:24 PM

EvdWee 04.24.2009 07:11 PM

nice one!

The Earl Of Slander 04.25.2009 05:11 AM

We should totally have all the boardies meet up for the SY gig at least. December is a fucking lifetime away!

Kyohan 04.25.2009 08:13 AM

Looks like the tickets are flying out for this. If you're planning to go, I wouldn't rely on it taking as long to sell out as ATP normally does.

from the press release:

After the enormous success of last year’s sold out and mind-blowing UK tour and a brilliant turn as the inaugural curators for ATP New York, we are very pleased to announce that the curators for ATP: Nightmare Before Christmas, 2009 will be:
MY BLOODY VALENTINE!

The event will take place at Butlins Holiday Resort in Minehead, England from December 4th - 6th, 2009.
So far confirmed to join the legendary sonic sculptors are:

Sonic Youth
De La Soul
EPMD
Sun Ra Arkestra
The Horrors

And of course, My Bloody Valentine themselves.

Tickets are £150 for room only accommodation and £160 for self-catering accommodation, BUT for 2 weeks we are slashing the prices so YOU can save money.

2-WEEK EARLY BIRD SPECIAL!
We know it’s hard out there right now, so in recognition of everyone tightening their belts we are offering a couple of early bird specials to help out your hip pocket.
Tickets for ATP Nightmare Before Christmas curated by My Bloody Valentine go on-sale this Friday April 17th at 9:00am. For one week only we have drastically reduced the price on a limited allocation of tickets. Everyone purchasing tickets for 7 days, until 9:00am on April 24th, or until the allocation runs out will receive a massive £20 off their ticket. So, if you are purchasing a 5 berth apartment, you will pay £100 less for 5 tickets! If you are buying a 2 berth that is £260 + bf instead of £300 + bf.
If you miss out on this first discount, don’t despair. When the first allocation runs out or for 7 days from April 24th – May 1st we will be offering tickets at £10 off. So instead of paying £150 for a room only ticket you will pay £140 + bf and instead of paying £160 for a self catering ticket you will pay £150 + bf.
To recap;
April 17th – April 24th * Room only ticket - £130 Self-Catering ticket - £140
April 24th – May 1st * Room only ticket - £140 Self-Catering ticket - £150
From May 1st* Room only ticket - £150 Self-Catering ticket - £160
*(or until allocation runs out)
Remember, a ticket gets you three nights accommodation with an actual roof over your head, a bathroom and
shower just for you and your friends as well as a pass into the festival – you can’t get better value than that!
Please note the discount tickets are only available through www.atpfestival.com via Seetickets.
INSTALLMENT TICKETS
We’ve also spared a thought for those of you who can’t come up with the money in the next two weeks. ATP will again be running a deposit scheme for the festival to make it easier for some people to pay. We are offering a limited number of 4 berth apartments, both room-only and self-catering to be paid for with a small deposit upfront, and the remaining amount to be paid by the end of July. Both come with a booking fee of £7.50 per person (£30 per apartment). These chalets will be sold at £150 per person room only or £160 per person self catered.

People who would like to hold a 4 berth room only, must pay a deposit of £50 per person, (£200 for the apartment). The remaining £430 must be paid by July 31st.

People who would like to hold a 4 berth self catering, must pay a deposit of £60 per person, (£240 for the apartment). The remaining £430 must be paid by July 31st.

As we will be holding the apartments for you, all deposits will be non-refundable, so please only apply if you are sure you can pay the remaining amount when it is due in July.

If you are able to pay through a normal ticket agency upfront for your whole apartment, then please do so and don't use this scheme and leave the deposit scheme for those people who find it harder to get the full amount together in one go. Also, remember those using this scheme will not receive the two week discount tickets!

You will be required to pay both installments by either cheque or paypal. Please note, that all cheques must be received and cleared within 5 days of you being accepted into the deposit scheme. If your cheque does not clear, or is not received, your application will go to the bottom of the queue which may mean you do not get to participate in the scheme this year.

Please email deposit (at) atpfestival.com if you would like to take part in the deposit scheme including: your name, address, which type of room you want (room only or self catering) and which payment method you would like to use (paypal or cheque). You will then be notified if your application was successful and details of how to pay by your chosen method, or if you are in a waiting line. Applicants in the waiting line may be accepted if earlier applicants fail to make the first deposit in time.

All emails will be answered within 48 hours. Deposit applications will be granted on a first come first serve basis.

its selling very fast right now. the early bird tickets offer expires on friday morning/when they sell out (most options now gone) so if you're set on coming its cheaper and safer to do it soon. but then i would say that eh?

the installment ticket scheme is of course another option, there's still a few places spare.

jamie_atp 04.28.2009 05:15 PM

all the early bird self catered sold out now, room only early birds left though
