Oh, of course, not questioning yer hoodie/anorak knowledge. But again (labouring the point as per usual), those coats were nowhere to be seen in the UK until the early 90's, where K Shields did indeed sport one around the time of "Loveless". And if anyone would have called MBV an anorak band then, they would have laughed off the face of the earth. Funnily enough, those coats were sported far more by rave/dance/hip-hop outfits in the UK at the time. |
Ignore parkas. Cantankerous is deluded.
And I think you're taking the term anorak too literally. |
this argument is retarded, i'm done.
|
Anorak: "A person obsessively interested in a thing or topic that doesn't seem to warrant such attention."
Or a geek if you will. |
i said nerd. same thing.
kevin shields is a nerd. |
Kevin Shields is a nerd. As is T Moore. And J Mascis. And Lee Ranaldo. And etc etc etc.
Nerds for the Win, everytime. Jocks can all eat shit. Slowly. |
Steve Malkmus is a jock, what a douchebag.

because i like their records and people who saw them in the old days always go on about how amazing they were live. i think people who think mbv are awesome live are just tricked in to thinking they're better than they really are because of the volume. |

paypal address will go up the day of the event. |
Wait, there was supposed to be a reason to see them besides the volume?
|
worst/best thread ever.
|
they were good. they weren't incredible but they were certainly passable. definitely not the best show i'll ever see but i suppose i got my money's worth. mostly i went because no way was i not going to see them live if they toured again.

anything counts for the fund, your help is needed and appreciated (especially if your coin is indeed shinny.) still, i'm going to need a couple hundred mellys to raise the money for me to see them play "what you want" live! |
Don't see them, FUCK THEM!

I saw them live first time round and loved them. I like ''Isn't Anything'' a lot, but hey, I like so many other bands a lot so I can afford to skip people's records or gigs here and there without it making much difference to my enjoyment of music in general. When I heard that they reformed my first thought was ''YAWN, for a band that made only one TRULY good record, I bet that there's going to be endless talk about them''. I didn't go to the gig because I could not be arsed even if they were going to be as good as I heard on a couple of the recordings from some of the gigs, so I have neither strong feelings nor weak ones about them. |

Sorry man, but the tent was still full when they finished. Not hatin', just sayin'. |
man, i was in the centre of the tent.. it was no means empty but there was acres of room around.... the crowd did exit pretty steadily during the closer......
i was at the beasties in the same tent last year and that was full... not room to fuckin breathe! |
Man, the beasties last year was intense. I had to leave, the bass was just painful up the front, I could only take about 15 minutes of their set before leaving
