Well, Thurston doesn't do any of the noise parts during the verses since he always galavants around the stage with mic in hand and Lee's part isn't really enough but still, it was pretty damn good yesterday.

that's easily one of their best songs, so I'm glad they play it but wow.

It seems like Sonic Youth really know what songs everyone likes by them... you never see 'em playing panty lies..

I'd flip if they were to play panty lies!!! I'd b soooo happy actually!

no queen blues would b nice too!

o'connor 07.05.2008 07:28 PM

found a video of bull in the heather and silver rocket. it's black and white and you can't hear the vocals very well, but the noise at the end of silver rocket is awesome. it's got the part where T jumped in the press pit too. attacking the press yr guitar is fucking tits! awesome w/ a capital AWE!

Wrong thread, man.

atsonicpark 07.05.2008 08:12 PM

haha.

it's a joke, because he only has 2 posts and nothing but negative rep and all his image links are just links so i wanted to give the impression that all the image links were porn.

but i was kidding.

and yes all the images are real images.

because i was kidding.

stefansonic 07.05.2008 08:26 PM

I know this is not during the show, but I obviously went to enter the show through the (incorrect for public) press gate, and Thurston just happened to be standing there so I just took this quickly. I'm still talking about how great this show really was...

o'connor 07.05.2008 09:02 PM

looks like he's telling you "nah, YOUR entrance is over there. this is for the rockstars". i bet that large black fellow is his assistant. :)

ellesibee 07.05.2008 09:57 PM

here are some pictures I took at the show yesterday... enjoy :)

o'connor 07.05.2008 10:28 PM

pretty good lil buddy :)

reginald 07.05.2008 10:29 PM

Fantastic pictures camestegal !!!

Being short didn't keep you from having a good angle to snap away !!!! :)

camestegal 07.06.2008 12:49 AM

ha, thanks! the space between shoulders/zooming in are both key...so was waiting in line an hour and a half before doors opened. It was well worth it.

biffbot 07.06.2008 01:15 AM

incredible show... incredible setlist, but i was hoping to hear thurston utter the magic words "um, we just wrote some new songs... and we've never played them before... in front of people..."

galavants

Great word. The 100% I heard at the show reminded me of some Hip Hop. The beat did at least. It worls becuz T's lyrics are so unpredictable....

I know its a hit but one of the best songs of the show...

I actually like the song better that way. Very spare. More emphasis on the beat.

Chris Lawrence 07.06.2008 08:34 PM

Well, sometimes it's good to be alone.

neptuneg 07.06.2008 08:45 PM

100% started going south in late '95. I wonder why. Maybe it's hard for Thurston to sing it over all of the noise, but that seems very unlikely -- that's based on the bootlegs I've listened to

EyeballGrowth 07.07.2008 02:06 AM

I am very sad I did not get to attend this show, even though it would have been my 5th time seeing SY. The only way I could have gone was to drive to NYC on the 4th of July from Hartford at 6 am on no sleep, drinking 5 hour energy, wait till 9 to get tickets, and wait 5 more hours for the show to start.. I really didn't feel up to that. Then I turn on the live broadcast and they are playing Hey Joni. FUCK!

✌➬ 07.08.2008 12:59 PM

dazedcola 07.25.2008 01:56 PM

dammit when are we going to see an entire copy of that show?

clever name 07.28.2008 02:32 PM

This was a preposterously rocked-up show, almost nothing but crankers. Even when they fuck up, it's great. I am so pleased that these people exist and that they do what they do.

dazedcola 08.04.2008 11:26 AM

ok, finally i was able to track down a bootleg of the show, but lucky me doesnt have a pass to the dimeadozen torrents.

Can somebody with the priveledge download it and post it on here?

Ripchord 08.04.2008 12:58 PM

Dude, skipvacuum posted the audio almost a month ago.

yeah! i also know he's always video taping their shows...i think he's preparing some "best sonic shows"...who knows?? Maybe someday we will see the results of his shooting.
the set list is great...and thanks by the photos guys!

reginald 08.04.2008 07:51 PM

There's an audience sourced version on ingram's direct download server, his archive thread in Sonic Sharing. It's complete and in lossless flac in a 16 bit and 24 bit version. FYI.

(new entry, TODAY) reginald: The setlist photo here shows what appears to be 3 encores. See the lines separating the songs ? I swear as I was listening to the show live it seemed to be 3 encores....the depiction seems to corroborate that. Hmmm....

Yea....see reena 'crossed' out...that's cryptic for Cross the Breeze. haha...

The setlist listed on Ingram's lossless archive thread is reversed for tunes 7-9. It shows 7. Cross 8. Hey Joni 9. Jams

...on the server's order.
