yeah i smoke, i did my bill hicks impression yesterday.

true . i feel sheepish right now , as after having stayed away from cigs (apart from while drinking ) for over a year , id been telling my baby brother to get the hell away from the smokes . and here i am , rekindling my love with cigarettes . merely a couple weeks ago , ive been smoking again . i havent peeled off my nails once during this time , oddly (normally they cant grow a cunthairs length without me ripping at them ) . and i like them . they relieve some stress and it feels good to take a second and sit right down and breathe the fumes , all my own cancerous goodness .
i initially quit the year + change ago becuase after smoking for 8 years it was no longer about sitting down amongst the various madnesses of the day and indulging . whether i wanted to smoke or not , i had to have a smoke . when it was clearly an addiction , and about control , and my lack of it , is when i decided i had had enough . quitting wasnt so bad . i would rather not have the habit of course - the price just keeps getting higher - but i do love to smoke .

i blame films and my sister for starting me smoking. all the coolest films stars smoked.

they used to but they all gave it up. o do recall a picture someone took backstage of thurston smoking a very large joint. it was quite a recent pic too and he looked out of it.

It's unbelievable how many restaurants put their non-smoking sections right next to the smoking section, but a couple of feet higher. Presumably there is some kind of a myth in catering circles that smoke sinks to floor level and stays there.

You can see the all smoking cigarettes in the Disappearer video where they are in the Diner. There is a photo of Thurston smoking a cigarette in the Made In USA booklet, and there are various photo's off Lee getting stoned floating around the internet.

The building where i work has had a complete no smoking policy for nearly two years and it didn't seem to affect any smokers in a significant way at all. Even if that wasn't the case, i wouldn't smoke in my office because it is tiny and it would smell foul.

crap, i work at home and at times i have the temptation to have a smoke but i don't because i know it would be non-stop and then i'd start making burnholes in my shirts again... usually the urge comes early in the morning after i've been up all night working on a project.

here is the funny thing, the "urge" usually goes away after taking a few deep breaths. maybe what i'm really craving is oxygen but my body has been trained to smoked instead (oh perversions of nature!).

anyway you all seem so awake. i'm just drinking my morning tea and it hasn't fully kicked in. bastards!

Thats the thing though if i did, god forbid, meet a girl - i'd rather she didn't smoke, even though i do. It because i dont really want that kind of reinforcement of a bad habit.

I didn't actually notice much smokiness at ATP. I know there were lots of people smoking, but I didn't notice my clothes stinking of smoke.

Smoking is being banned here in all pubs soon too. Thank fuck for that. I'm not necessarly anti-smoking, but I don't expect to smell like the shit if I'm not doing it myself. It's not hard to go to a pub and have a beer without a cigarette.

true story: i went to a restaurant and decided to sit outdoors. the waitress came out and told me i couldn't smoke outside in the open air where my smoke wouldn't be bothering anyone, but that they had a smoking section indoors and i could smoke freely in there, so as to pass on my smoke to small children and members of the cult of non/anti-smokers.
how much sense does that make?
