Has anyone ordered this from the Smalltown shop and actually received it? I ordered three weeks ago, no money has been taken, no goods received.


Just checked back to the site and it says:

This shop is temporarily closed until August 2007.

Yep, I had the same problem. So I finally got tired of waiting, cancelled the order and downloaded it. :cool:

Well I've just emailed the people who are supposed to be sending it, let's wait and see what happens...

I downloaded their current catalgue too, and it's not listed on there, although most other smalltown stuff is.

I wish I'd ordered from VT. The money to pay for my copy from Smalltown Supersound has been taken now, but still no sign of a CD. And they're on holiday, so there's fuck all chance of getting anything done about it.

I heard it's a hiking holiday from Norway to Siberia. So that might take a while.

Nefeli: The money shows on my statement as having been taken at the start of May, but it didn't actually appear on the statement until last week.

they're probably having a salmon lunch from that.

Oh, I don't want them to die from food poisoning. I just want them to feel the pain that I am feeling because I don't have my Original Silence CD. That's fair, isn't it?

So the pain you're experiencing from not recieving your cd is a pain similar to that of food poisoning? Has this incident caused vomiting etc?

I got a copy last weekend at a Peter Brotzmann Chicago Tentet show (the reason they had it on sale no doubt being that Paal Nilssen-Love was in it)


Listening to it now... It's pretty good, but so far I agree with Whorefrost that it seems a bit overhyped here... or maybe my expectations were just too high. It could be a grower of course.


I'll be interested to hear your and Nefeli's opinions when you'll receive your copies in September! :D

It's not very encouraging that the contacts page on their website says "If you send us an e-mail, don't expect a reply", or something to that effect. I don't think they're a bunch of crooks, but I do think that they're more than just a little crap.

Boy, I feel bad for "promoting" this album. I have talked to the guy from the label several times and he was really nice. Definitely not a crook or crap. I'll try to contact him to ask what is going on. Maybe he gust have a different concept of time up there in the north?

I think they've just gone on their summer holidays and forgotten about Nefeli and me :(

My girlfriend is going to Norway for a couple of day later this week. I shall get her to go into a Norwegian record store and steal a copy for me.

Spinning Orig Silence second time round... actually pretty gnarly, even the nu-metal bassist isn't annoying me so much this time.. at times it sort of sounds like dumbed down improv but it's quite cool nonetheless..

I've had an apologetic e-mail from Smalltown - the shop was left open when the guy who runs the label went away on holiday, so orders went through when he was not around to send them out. He's back in Oslo in a week or so.

I hope he didn't eat that dodgy salmon that I wished upon him.

This is what he wrote:

"Oh man, that is not good. I have been on long vacation you see and because of a misunderstanding the shop was not closed (and I am the only one who sends out the packages as I run the label alone), so I just noticed that orders had come in. I am actually about to write everybody and tell them I’m sorry. I will also give something extra to the ones. I am back next week and will send out then."

anyway. it is worth the wait. everyone should check "2 bands and a legends" too---some crazy tunes on that record.

I haven't listened to it yet though, I'm saving that for the journey to work tomorrow.

It's a good choice, if you can afford to have your mind totally out of focus during work time.

I haven't listened properly yet. I have a drive of an hour or so to do this evening though, and I've put the CD in the car ready for that.

No. I'm afraid I'll have to divide my attention between the music and avoiding hitting other vehicles.
