some suggestions for The Bedroom: B-sides and Rarities part deux
j'accuse ted hughes (ok it's not a studio track, so what?) street sauce think it over (plus other stuff from things behind the sun soundtrack) the entire kali yug express ep |
"Campfire" blows.

it's a pretty good collection for a casual fan (and exactly what is a casual SY fan? dirty goo in the washing machine?)
i just wonder if they is any pressure from universal or inclination from the band to put out a 1990-present retrospective best of aka corporate ghost on cd it's kinda to the point where they should release a box set cause there is so much material to sift through this compilation (called Destroyed Room which is not even on the fucking thing and Is it my body? is???) really seems like that Nirvana best of the box which just focused on demos and not studio b-sides |
no 'think it over'

i was under the impression that might have been included with the DDN deluxe reissue with the Su Nioj stuff |

Yeah, I agree with you there. I expected this to be at least a two-cd set. It feels like it was made pretty lazily. They could have put muchhh more on it. |
It seems very uncomprehensive. You could include the Fall covers at least which are a great laugh, if youre even hoping to get a marginally casual fan to buy it. It seems like a greatest hits only designed to milk a different audience.

Hmm im guessing its a SY comprise, Geffen probebly wanted to do a quick 'Hits' compilation, so they agreed to do this instead. Athough in fairness a 'Hits' compilation is well over due, it probebly wouldn't be of much interest to us but i remember when I was just getting into SY a compilation would have been a handy starting point. If they did, the best way they could do it is like The Beatles did with the Red and Blue compilations, 1981-1989, 1990-1999, 2000 - ????

odd selection indeed... hmmm.... cool, i guess
|
I've heard at least half these songs... a lot of it seems throwaway/rehearsal stuff... weird mix of compilation cash in and esoteric track selection... i'm confused and horny... yield to me

i have always though a decade based compilation would work quite well for them, i never liked the tracklisting for screaming fields of sonic love and it seemed rather incomplete |
Im not impressed with the tracklisting. Seems very random and thrown together at the last minute. Since im pretty sure only big fans of SY will buy this, they should have just done a box set and put everything in it, similar to the cure's connect the dots box or the recent nirvana one. Would much rather shell out a little extra cash for a nice, well thought out and compiled multi-disc set instead of just a few random odds and ends. That being said, I will probably buy this anyways for the songs on there I dont have yet.
|
Yeah.... i don't think I'm buying this. I have thrashfest still.
|
Is that the 25 minute Diamond Sea? I've been wanting to buy the Diamond Sea single online but haven't gotten around to it. It's pretty expensive too. If it is, looks like I won't need that single. But I'll probably still get it.

Here is a little more: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/..._id=1003316933 "The 12-track set will also be released as a double-vinyl set early next year on the band's own Goofin' Records label." |
Wow, that track list is kind of a let down. I'll still get it though.
|
^Same....a cd of at least half unreleased/unheard stuff would have been swell.
|
I wonder what the cover art will look like.
|
why dont they release a dvd of one of their early shows. like that '82 art gallery show. Or the '83 communist tent party show they had on their homepage a little while ago. I dont get it. People would love that stuff, and eat it right up....

cool
