I've been buying beans roasted locally a lot lately, instead of stuff like folgers and whatnot. At best it gets grinded when I make the purchase.

I switch it up a lot man. A lot. Lately I've been very into Italian roasts the most. Followed closely by French (dark) roasts.

I do buy from starbucks often.. and sometimes from smaller places organic or fairtrade coffees. As far as flavours go I love anything from south america in an espresso shot (probably because I used to work at sbux) All of my beans I like a fairly dark roast.
If I'm drinking brewed then african beans or a blend of african/south american are nicer. I like the SMELL of beans from asia the most, but generally don't like the taste when it's brewed. Asian beans in an espresso shot are hilarious. It's like drinking mud. Interesting. But still savoury spiced mud. Brewed or FP isn't near as bad.
I never buy ground coffee. Always whole bean and grind when I use it. There is no point otherwise.

Just drank my first cup in many years, actually. We're in Hawaii, and the local kona stuff my wife bought smelled too damn good not to try. It tasted it too, but immediately sent me to the bathroom, so I'll be loading up on the green tea at the grocery store soon...

automatic bzooty 09.06.2009 02:29 PM

i dunno. colombian folgers or some shit. it just makes anything better we get sporadically taste glorious though.

floatingslowly 09.06.2009 02:52 PM

monday through friday, I drink about 2 pots a day of Folgers (black - cream and sugar are for pussies who hate coffee).

weekends, rarely have any at all.

I'd mainline it if I could.

hell, if I cut out coffee, then I have to take a more serious look at worse habits. fuck that shit.

Satan 09.06.2009 02:56 PM

black coffee is for pussies who hate crack.

floatingslowly 09.06.2009 03:01 PM

crack is for pussies who can't smoke plutonium.

I'm a total pussy by the way.

This local roasting company's stuff mostly. It's not on the site but right now they sell something in honor of the local public radio station that is out of this world called WNCW Mountain Blend.

i rarely drink coffee at home, and by coffee i mean espresso shots.

nicola, segafredo, buondi, sical, delta...

i enjoy different blends, what really matters is the machine and the operator.
it's a grievous task when moving around, but once you find the right spot...
