Turn It Up Faggot was good, Cryptograms was less good, and it's been downhill since then.

Are you serious? Turn It Up Faggot was alright for a Fall rip-off band, but it's really sloppy and amateur compared to the rest of their work. Fluorescent Grey EP is still my fav.

I feel like Turn It Up, Faggot is under-rated even if it's not really their best. The band barely even admit they made it, wtf.

Yeah Turn It Up is good imo, but nowhere as good as Microcastle and especially Cryptograms. Cryptograms is by far their best work as far as I'm concerned. Seriously, Heatherwood is a moment of pure awesomeness.
The side projects are really good too. I love this band.

I'll take a good, scuzzy, amateur, sloppy noise rock album over the boring, monotonous, murky pop stuff they released on Microcastle.

TURN IT UP FAGGOT sounds like a band that's still looking for its identity. Which is what I think it was anyway. CRYPTOGRAMS was incredible. And MICRO CASTLE is way too amazing for only a year later. (Not even taking into consideration that the first Atlas Sound LP was put out the same year!!!)

I think you have to really think about how Young the band is. They're really, really fucking good.

So far I dig everything that they've done, including side projects, but Cryptograms is a high point for me. Microcastle is good. It sounds like Atlas Sound demos, though.
