Hooray! good choice |
Why no love for Magical Mystery Tour?
|
not a proper album? more like an EP with a collection of singles and B sides?
still great stuff, except for all you need is love. ha ha, and maybe hellow goodbye |
I went with Sgt Pepper.
I grew up on that album. it was my paps favorite. I'm just following in his footsteps. |
Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park
Shaves in the dark trying to save paper Sleeps in a hole in the road Saving up to buy some clothes Keeps a ten-bob note up his nose Such a mean old man Such a mean old man |

Although personally I'd put Sgt Peppers just above Revolver (and would extend things to include Rubber Soul as the third node in their triad of perfection) I totally agree with the main point here. With regards the white album, I've never understood the affection it gets on here. It's just too patchy. |
I love the white abum because I want to hear from every single beatle and in every single genre they choose to work in and every single weird idea they had and the white album is all that
and revolution 9 RULES |
Paul is dead!!!!
|
i prefer george harrison's All Things Must Pass than the entire Beatles catalog
|
i like the white album, just find it impossible to listen to the whole thing without falling asleep in the middle, then waking up towards the end almost having a heart attack.
no love for rubber soul here, huh? |

you really love snoozefolk huh? |
in my life = arguably the most perfect pop song ever recorded.
only rivaled by "for no one" and "she's leaving home" for my fav beatles track of all time. |

That's always been my favourite. Basically, it's got most of their best songs on: Blue Jay Way, Strawberry Fields Forever, All You Need Is Love, Baby You're A Rich Man. And I think they hit upon their ideal sound: experimental, quirky yet accessible, classic pop songwriting - not going so far into that vaudeville wankery that always put me off Sgt Peppers. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, blah blah, but I don’t understand how anyone can prefer Sgt Peppers to, say, Magical Mystery Tour or Abbey Road – When I’m 64? Fixing A Hole? The title-track? Unless it’s something to do with loving the production – loving the intricacies that I can’t recognise or appreciate – in terms of songs and songwriting, it’s SHIT!* *quite good but over-rated. |
blech. I really don't like When I'm Sixty-Four at all. It's so shmaltzy and dopey and disrupts the flow of the album for me.
Then again, I love Within You Without You, so what do I know? |
I agree with The White Album being a bit patchy. I like Revolver and Abbey Road more as overall constant albums (except that I don't like the song Ringo sings on each of them). Revolver also has probably my favourite Beatles song, if I could choose only one: I'm Only Sleeping.
I still vote for The White album though, because it has the most good songs on it. |
rubber soul

yes. |
Revolver, with Rubber Soul close.

Beatles, hmmm, never been able to formulate a solid opinion on their music. They're occasionally hit but mostly miss, to me. With that, I don't like any particular album but select songs off of albums.

i picked "other" and by other i mean None of em.
