See most people get offended by this, but in reality the term has been used so loosely it has lost it's power. That is why many in the gay community use it. It just means to describe something lame, you know how it changed. And people who still get offended, shut up idiot it isn't derogatory anymore.

I can't remember any specific examples but at high-school I knew loads of people who would take the moral high-ground on something then conradict themselves by doing essentially the same thing, or who criticised others for things which they did (say what you like about Freud but he was right about defense-mechanisms, projection and reaction-formation and all that).
