Cool...recordings?

I'd love to make a nice pedal board, but I need a new amp first.

While we are on that guitar topic:

CHOUT (or anyone else), what amps would you recommend for playing in a band? (I swear I will start a band eventually)

I have been using a Line 6 Flextone II. one 12" and 60 watts. It has lots of 'modeling' sounds (amps, effects) but I don't like most of them, so I never use them. I have it usually on the Marshall '68 Plexi model.

When I get my renter's refund in august, I'm going to get a Fender Twin! I want an amp with two channels so I can run effects in stereo.

It depends how loud your band plays. 50 watts and above generally is plenty for loud rock.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 06.05.2006 08:23 PM

You'll love the Twin. Fender amps kick so much ass for the price they are. If you haven't already, I'd check out a vibrolux and a bassman too. I've played silverfaces of both and they were awesome, and silverfaces are supposed to be the worst fender amps.

hey chout. i see you have a small clone chorus pedal. i've been meaning to buy one. what do you think of it?

CHOUT 06.05.2006 08:31 PM

I like the Small Clone. It sounds better than the Boss Super Chorus I traded it in for, but it's not as flexible with the tone only having one dial (speed) and one switch (depth). An effect blend dial would be nice, but that's just nitpicking.

Alex's Trip 06.05.2006 09:13 PM

Any cheaper suggestions? Thinking more along the lines of $200-400...

nomadicfollower 06.05.2006 09:25 PM

I use a Behringer amp. I've heard alot of shit about Behringer products, and I see what is meant. The effects aren't very good (which is to be expected) but the amp (100 watts) is very loud.
I believe it's $200, maybe $250.

nomadicfollower 06.05.2006 09:26 PM

In fact, here it is:

CHOUT 06.05.2006 09:28 PM

It never hurts to check around for used amps too...

Alex's Trip 06.05.2006 09:46 PM

I've looked before. I just don't know what to buy. I don't have the money yet anyway...

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 06.05.2006 10:18 PM

Get a used fender deville.

CHOUT 06.05.2006 10:45 PM

I was thinking about a Deville before I decided on the twin - they're very nice.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 06.05.2006 10:58 PM

Yeah, my friend Matt has a deville and I played it at my last gig, I like it. (my bassman is at the shop :( ) I like my friend Nick's vibrolux better as well as my bassman, although I didn't fool with the deville's EQ and stuff too much because I was rushing the setup.

next step 06.06.2006 01:16 AM

I got a new vibrolux custom and I like it. 40w all tubes. It's not so loud but it's enough to wake up all the neighborhood! it's really soft and deep with fat bass freq and the tubes have a awesome dynamic. It's my amp.

next step 06.06.2006 01:19 AM

chout but you want to buy the new twin or a twin reverb?

I have a 2 channel amp but to play stereo for real is better to play with 2 different amp around.

CHOUT 06.06.2006 02:30 AM

I'll probably find an old one used. They're pretty common in the shops around here.

next step 06.06.2006 02:45 AM

here it's not the same. we havent any kind of old music gear. And mostly of the things are unknown. I buy everything thru internet. 900 was a so different century musically spking between usa and europe cause we fought on this land 2 fucked and unless wars while you americans started building electronics gear and play rock and roll!!! fuckers :)

king_buzzo 06.06.2006 08:34 AM

lucky asshole!!! how come you have so much pedals?

nice pedalboard btw.

king_buzzo 06.06.2006 08:38 AM

whats the red mrx? and the thing on the right from the mrx?

Danny Himself 06.06.2006 09:41 AM

The red MXR is an MXR Dyna Comp, and next to it looks like a.. Boss DD-20 Giga Delay. Am I right, chout?
