Ladies and gentlemen we're floatingslowly in space.

quote-worthy, porky.
--- it was like that here for a couple of weeks but it has started to rain and the nights have cooled out (it took 3 days of intense showers to get this way, though). and yeah, in the u.s., i understand why they need a/c's at night but i can't for the life of me get why people avoid the seasons during the day (freezing a/c in the summer, scorching heater in the winter). |
my apartment is like a cave and it gets absolutely no air circulation so I decided this summer to not be a captive to the heat and I got an a/c this weekend, when I use my stereo and burners and computer and it gets warm, plus I find I'm talking to myself a lot and you all know I'm full of hot air.
When I lived in Wash Heights I had windows and the air could circulate and just used fans, anyway the wiring was from the 50's and we couldn't have had a/c if we'd wanted it. I'm a little concerned about blackouts in nyc today... |

I grew up in eternal heat wave that is southern california so I'm better with heat than with cold. However, San Francisco's micro-climate whatever makes hearing about weather elsewhere feel like a foreign war, not at all hot here. In fact there was a bit of wind chill last I was out.
|
I don't have air conditioning. My parents refuse.
I hate Canadian summers, yesterday I thought I was going to die. |
I've always preferred electric fans. Maybe because of some nostalgia from somewhere.

ohhhh hahahahahahaha haha hah ha hahahaha hahah ha. you think SoCal is hot, sissy britches?? :p PS: I took a hedge trimmer to the control wire of my A/C unit this weekend. thanks to my electronic affinity, I was able to repair what could have been a costly fix and very-non-california-hot night. and by non-california-hot night, I mean, really hot night. [edit for Earth language (service pack 3a)] |
I dont mind the sun its just the humidity that kills me. I hate it when it makes you sweat loads just walking up a flight of stairs or running for a train or something.

come to Houston, or anywhere else in the southern swampy USA, and you will understand plain as day temperature stays at 90 degrees fahrenheit all night, 90% humidity, a freakin' FAN is not going to cut it. |

yep. we also get a heat dome 'round here. every summer it sits on central oklahoma and northern texas. it just heats up like a car in the sun. getting hotter and hotter and hotter. no wind. nothing. and it gets down to about 92 at night. it's awesome. |
You guys are weird, it's 7pm here and I'm cold!
|
I'm working at a friend's house today b/c lightning zapped our cable/net system last night. There's a lovely pool in the backyard right outside my window but it's too freaking hot to go out in the sun and swim.
|
Bump!
I love summer! I only wore a t-shirt today, it was first time in weeks I've been able to without freezing to death. To commemorate this I've been eating ice cream and reading the paper with bossa nova blasting out of the stereo. |
It's been humid here lately, but last night it finally poured rain and cooled things down.
I love the rain. |
It rained here, too. Like out of nowhere. My friend's roommate came in and said there was rain and lightening and no one believed him. It never rains here, much less this time of year.
