I was surprised to see this in a record store the other day and just bought it right away

toxic johnny 04.12.2008 05:53 AM

Really enjoying this at the moment... one of his very best I think.

I have to agree. This might be the best noise album from Thurston.

mil_pl 04.20.2008 03:17 PM

hell yeah i like it too, it's good noise from T.

mil_pl 04.20.2008 03:18 PM

and i love the cover!

Forensic Scene 04.21.2008 02:36 PM

the cover is genius. does it compare to anything he has done before? Is it drone (sometimes that gets boring)? or is it more of a guitar attack session? does he strum the strings at all? :)

To be honest, I was far more interested in the sets he'd do with say a drummer and saxaphone players, etc. Discs like PIECE FOR JETSUN DOLMA or THE PROMISE -- or omg -- HURRICANE FLOYD !!!!!

I own and love these three and don't forget Klangfarben, this is prime shit!:D

noisereductions 09.24.2008 09:12 AM

I dnt have that one. I have probably a dozen of T's freejazz outings. But that's note one of them. But I'm pretty sure that HURRICANE is my all time favorite (of the ones I have).

what are you waiting for?
Have you actually listened to it at all?

Millionaire Conservator 12.25.2008 07:15 AM

Definitely one of the albums of the year, along with SYR 8. The layers and structuring still blow me away with each listen.

viewtiful_alan 12.25.2008 11:14 AM

I actually found this at a barnes and noble over the summer. I got it and actually really liked it.
I always feel weird praising noise though..

RanaldoNecro 12.25.2008 11:35 AM

I got it and it didn't do it for me...

I feel weird praising noise too since I don't listen to it a lot but this record was really good, in my opinion.

By the way, B and N really had it?

viewtiful_alan 12.28.2008 12:33 AM

Yes, they did. I was quite shocked and felt like I had to buy it, so that they might order other products in that vein. This is the same b & n that had Boris' pink and sunn o's black one.
