Currently on Cartoon Network - Death Note

This genius kid

finds this Death God's book

if he writes down a person's name in the book and knows what they look like they will die in 26 seconds of a heart attack. The kid decides he's going to make the world a better place by killing off all the criminals.

Have fun - I've never blown through so many volumes of a manga so quickly to get to the end. The Anime is better because the diatribes that are in the manga are cut down for the sake of story pacing.

i gotta hand it to adult swim.. they annoy me, and the williams streets shows usually suck, but they sure do know their anime.

Watched Paprika last night.

10/10.

I'm currently addicted to "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya".
This show starts off slowly but becomes very odd and philosophical.

I know the main character looks like this...but you'll just have to trust me. I don't want to reveal any spoilers so I'm keeping the descriptions to a minimum.

Arrggghh my friend has been meaning to show me Paranoia Agent, Paprika, and Perfect Blue but hasn't got around to it. I've seen Evangelion, though. And Elfen Lied. Both were amazing. I need to see more.

Anngella 06.02.2008 12:49 AM

I'm watching the first episode right now. I'll watch the rest tomorrow, because I need to get some sleep.

RIP Satoshi Kon

Probably the most consistently mindblowing man in the world of anime. Perfect Blue, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers, Millenium Actress, and the series Paranoia Agent are all masterpieces.

I saw this thread and thought should I create a RIP thread for Satoshi Kon? I guess I'll just contribute to it. So sad to hear about his passing. He was an innovator in mature, grown-up animation. I have yet to see all his films but "Paprika" is amazing. I'm going to be renting "Perfect Blue" as well. RIP Mr. Satoshi Kon.
