black holes scare me.
I once thought I outsmarted Einstein on the topic of light being the fastest thing there is, because a black hole's force is so strong that light can't escape. Thus making the statement a black hole's force is faster than the speed of light, but I was wrong becuz it is just that, a force, and not real matter. Damn.

Cantankerous 09.18.2007 03:32 PM

well it was a good try
too bad there's no WORMHOLE

there should be suspense music after that

Savage Clone 09.18.2007 03:37 PM

There are a lot of things in the ocean that look like they're from space.

h8kurdt 09.18.2007 03:40 PM

Looking at all these amazing pictures really does make you think how damn hard it is to convey to stupendously massive size of them. It's weird how we as humans have no concept of extremely large things like space in general or anything extremely small like atoms etc. etc. I'm chatting shite now so I'll just leave.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 09.18.2007 03:44 PM

i get what yr saying.

Savage Clone 09.18.2007 03:48 PM

Water bears are tiny and can survive in space. They can also shut down for years at a time, survive radiation and temps several hundred degrees above and below zero. They are smaller than a grain of sand, and they kind of look like they're from space too. This is all apropos of nothing, but I'm putting this picture here anyway.

Outer space is only some sixty-two miles (100 km) away, yet hardly anyone ever visits.

Savage Clone 09.18.2007 05:00 PM

Lousy weather.

Torn Curtain 09.18.2007 05:41 PM

That thread reminds me that I loved astronomy as a child.

Consider the place for space in your creation
