Well, I don't know if that would be so bad. At least it would give me something to write about. Could be a novel in that. Except I'd have to be not-dead in the gutter. Maybe just near death.

gmku 07.26.2007 11:18 AM

You must spread some hot monkey sex around before letting Syn and Porky have it.

Washing Machine 07.26.2007 11:22 AM

I can imagine how awkward everything could be.

I just cant date a girl if she doesnt believe Daydream Nation, Spiderland, Kid A and The White Album are the four greatest fucking albums in the world.

with your willie cutted off...

gmku 07.26.2007 11:23 AM

We had enough common ground. She loved the White Album, got into Costello, Talking Heads, others. And I found I liked the Mac albums she was into.

My boyfriend doesn't like any of my music, but then again he has horrid taste in music. But I don't love him for his music.

Yeah, I find that it's pretty boring if you both like all the same things. There should be common interests, of course, but you shouldn't expect a carbon copy. That would be just weird.

I guess one thing we had in common was music. We both liked music a lot. Not necessarily the same music, but we both liked spending time listening to records and going to shows.

SynthethicalY 07.26.2007 11:26 AM

Yeah, having the same common ground is good, but not all. We are both into politics, and some other things, but I am not into sports, but then again he doesn't understand art.

pbradley 07.26.2007 11:28 AM

All the girls around here listen to Clap Your Hands Say Retard and crap hipster shit like that.

gmku 07.26.2007 11:28 AM

& if it's a good relationship, you both take things from each other's interests. you learn a little about his, he learns a little about yours, and you grow from that.

Then it is your responsibility to get them into other stuff. They probably just haven't had anyone interested enough in educating them about the error of their ways.

Nah, I'm automatically not hip enough to listen to when I mention how I don't see the appeal of Arcade Fire.

Hell, one tried to turn me on to Scout Niblett and being a sucker for Albini-produced acts I looked into her. Big mistake.

2. don't get mad/confused/insulted if i don't respond to a thread
3. don't ask me if i'm married yet, i am!

on a side note i trimmed my nails today and took a shower.

So weird, to be leaving full-time employment for the freelancer life. Terrifying, actually.

have a good trip.

and about the freelancer life-- fear not.

i've got a good freelancer book recommendatin for you-- this one kicks ass

seriously good advice. i've applied it to extra-literary pursuits with good success. brilliant shit.

gmku 07.26.2007 02:46 PM

Hey, thanks, man.

Yeah! I just read that one, actually. Great ideas, and by the end of it, had me thinking, Yeah, I can do this!

HaydenAsche 07.26.2007 03:09 PM

Oh, buzz off already, old decrepid man.
