I'm not sure about Ouzo that much. Tasted like mouth mint water to me. I still offer it to my visitors whenever I throw a party at my flat, but curiously enough, everyone denies having a drink of it.

Besides, bissen sort of means "snack" or "eat." He wasn't asking if you spoke German. He was asking if you ate either German cuisine or Germans. Not sure which, unless you gave me more context.

Also-

If you get a chance- drink some Ouzo or raki. I had raki and it was very interesting. It had an anise seed taste and made me buzzed very quickly. I thought it tasted watery, but I just found out they mix it with water. I've heard ouzo is very similar.

Also, Döner Kebaps rule.
