Beck can do anything
Lee Ranaldo is sonik and is still technically proficient, moreso than T
Prince would teach me how to do it all in a sexy fashion

sarramkrop 05.31.2007 06:20 PM

Someone who would be technically flawless. That way you could do whatever you liked with it.

Danny Himself 05.31.2007 06:21 PM

Technically flawless... like.. Armik?

sarramkrop 05.31.2007 06:22 PM

Anyone. That cheap.

Danny Himself 05.31.2007 06:23 PM

I'll teach you, if you want.

Fiver, and you have to take me out to dinner.

Bicorn Halfelven 05.31.2007 06:25 PM

I'm gonna change my answer to Michael Angelo Batio.

Legend.

i don't think getting guitar lessons from someone would benefit me more than it would reading a guitar magazine, even if the player was not technique based; for the most part, either the guy/girl will teach you how he/she does things step by step or tell you to "find your own sound".

now, if i could have a talk with someone about playing to know what the person feels and intends when doing so, it will not only help you understand what he/she does but will make you discover things in your own playing without resorting to copying their style.

and the people i'd love to chat about their guitar playing:

-seichii yamamoto
-keiji haino
-lydia lunch

a better question would be "if you haven't played guitar ever and wanted to start learning the instrument, which 3 guitar players would you choose to do so?" but still, it would lead to "if you wanted to rip off 3 guitar players' styles, who would it be?"

Anywhere you like. A sandwich will do, and you worked at Subway, which is a favourite. After that we could go to Walthamstow Greyhound Racing Stadium. I'm easily entertained and cheap, like that.

Edit - Danny

You're making it sound like a date. And the way you keep mentioning that you are 'cheap' is making it even creepier.

Hip Priest 05.31.2007 06:30 PM

Johnny Marr
Django Reinhart
RL Burnside

Why? You could check my records. Never dated someone younger than myself. In fact, I'm of the Kim Gordon school of libido.

That sounds like a school I'd want to go to.

Well, good luck to yourself. I never fancied someone younger than myself and that was a reference to something she said on an interview a few years ago, which I've found interesting.

hmmm wow, ive been playing drums for 24 years and i still have lessons because there is always something new to learn, and i don't play or sound anything like my teacher. from your statement i would hazard a guess at saying you have never had a good teacher if that is your opinion of what teachers teach.

Thanks for reminding, but it was about a particular question about younger fans.
