I'm going to get Omega oils from hemp oil, bread and such, and may start meditating, but hold your horses, nothing says I have a mental disability as of yet; I could in no way get into a special school. The psychologist waiting lists around here stretch to infinity anyway...

Fatty Acid Supplements
Omega-3 fatty acids are important because our common food supply does not provide enough and therefore they must be taken as a supplement. Must, that is, unless you weekly eat: raw liver, wild (not farmed) fish or game, or the flesh, milk or eggs of pasture-raised animals. While traditional diets featured these foods, they’re lacking in today’s menus. Thus, the to-do about omega-3s.
Cod liver and fish oil are the superior omega-3 fatty acid sources. They strengthen both the immune and circulatory systems and provide two nutrients (DHA and EPA) critical for healthy brain function. I personally favor cod liver oil as it’s also a superior source of vitamins A and D.
Take fish oil daily as a supplement (2 teaspoons per day for adults or a soft-gel cap of 10,000 IU). Purchase a reputable brand that is molecularly distilled and sold in an opaque bottle or capsules. It’s available both flavored and unflavored. Store fish oil in a cool, dark place or refrigerate.
For some years, flax oil was mistakenly recommended as an omega-3 source. Unfortunately, we can assimilate only a fraction of its omega-3s and it lacks the essential DHA and EPA. Yes, freshly ground flax seeds are a nutritious food, but flax oil cannot replace either fish oil or the omega-3s found in a traditional diet. If you’re a vegan, your best option is an omega-3 extract from sea algae.

I've heard a dirty rumor that a regular intake of omega from fish/related supplements leaves one with a "fishy" odor. Is professional success really worth becoming an olfactory pariah?

i don't know. i'd rather eat a big chunk of salmon--oil capsules are for pussies and those who live away from any decent fish market.

Savage Clone 06.14.2007 02:33 PM

Even back when I used to eat meat decades ago, I thought fish was disgusting.
I can't eat something that smells that awful. I just can't.

Cardinal Rob 06.14.2007 02:35 PM

That I know of I'm not dyspraxic so I guess that's misleading. Omega 3 can also be sourced from hemp oil, flax seeds and veg spread/margarine.

Are you people remedial?

Whether fish is palatable, and whether one desires to smell like one, are two extremely different things.

Fuck off now, I'm a bit irritable.

I've just meditated and it seems to have helped a little on my quest for decent concentration, so it may become routine.

On the fish tip, I have found the recent TV commercial for Vagisil to be absolutely hilarious, with its quick-cuts from blowfish to lobster and such, with flashing text reading "ODOR?" and "ITCH?" and the like. Pure gold.

I have not seen this. Amusing, yet simultaneously nauseating.

!@#$%!, if your professed love of all vaginal odors is an attempt at seeming sensuous or salacious, it is the wrong way to go, my friend.

neither-- i just disapprove of body-hating libel promoted by money-grubbing pharmaceutical companies seeking to pray on the purses of the weak-minded. and the fact that clone approves of that discourse is quite shocking. maybe he's been supplanted by an evil alter-ego with mainstream ideas.

Savage Clone 06.14.2007 03:22 PM

What?
Why do you think I found that commercial to be hilarious?
Have you not gathered anything from our many exchanges?
Yeesh!
