JESUS!

!@#$%! 05.15.2007 12:29 PM

that was fucked up. he apologized because she was a minor. but i think even if you're 30 it would be a shitty experience...

racehorse 05.15.2007 01:31 PM

i think that that radio guy was a complete idiot, making uninformed sweeping generalisations about something he doesn't understand at all. given, akon seems like a bit reckless and foolish, but he obviously had no idea that she was a minor. yeah, it was a totally stupid thing to do but it looks like these prudish, morally neurotic, middle-class republicans are using the incident as yet another way to condemn "hip hop" music as a whole. the music that gives poorly represented people a voice in a country where things are up against them. i guess it just annoyed me the way he was speaking of the vague term "hip hop music" being the cause of these things, whereas this is one idiot who just happens to be a hip hop musician. you get testosterone fueled, idiotic men in all genres of music.

MellySingsDoom 05.15.2007 01:50 PM

Somewhere in Chicago, Peter Sotos is scribbling down a story about this.

!@#$%! 05.15.2007 01:54 PM

oh i agree with racehorse -- the radio guy, "musclehead" (pfffttt!!) was an idiot as well.

Trasher02 05.15.2007 01:57 PM

Ew...
Akon must have been really horny at the time.

LifeDistortion 05.15.2007 01:57 PM

This is served as a warning to any singers who want to dryhump people during thier performance. Hire your own damn dryhumping dancers!!! You get age verification, they work for you, and hell, they're getting paid for it! I don't care if you're Akon, Snoop Dogg, or Janet Jackson, they all like to grind themselves against people during thier performances, well hire the damn people you dryhump and shit like this won't be an issue.

Rob Instigator 05.15.2007 02:00 PM

Frankly racehorse, you and I both know that there are WAY more than just one lone idiot in HIP HOP, especially the mass market hip hop, and since that is what reaches 95% of the hip hop audience out there, it is understandable that people will come down o the whole of it.

mainstream hip hop music has spent the past 15 years objectifying women, singing the praises of men who fuck and run, who insult, denigrate, humiliate and hurt women to get their sexual pleasure, acting like any woman is just a PUSSY and an ASS and that they all have their price.

You know this is true. Akon is just the latest idiot in a long line of fucking idiots. I do not know how it started, but early on hip hop music attatched itself solely to the hoodlum mentality, the mentality that women are for fucking and nothig else, that love is WEAK, that crime and criminal actions mean you are smart, that choosing crime is logical, that money and the stupid ass fucking luxury bling and items you can get are what makes a man's worth.
the old argument that the rappers are only saying what people want to hear is BULLSHIT. people did not want to hear any of thatshit until someone told them it existed and that it is a way to BE. I'd like to see each oand every single hip hop fuck that ever referred to women as bitches and ho's get their asses monkey stomped by a gang of tough ass women. It woudl be beautiful.

what they are selling, the ideas and the mentality and the "glamour" are the ideas menatlity and glamour of PIMPS. fuck that shit.

there's my rant for the day.

remember public enemy? Trie Called Quest? de La? The Roots?
marginal stars now. the hip hop fanbase does not want anything to do with it. the ideas of free expression and humanity and political involvement and personal empowerment were tossed aside. I blame the record labels who always seek to extract just ONE saleable "message" and then seek to repeat it and repeat it and repeat it ad nauseum until it makes money no longer just as much as I blame the fucking dipshit "artists" that sucked the corporate cock and agreed to focus solely onthat big pimpin' stupid shit.

pbradley 05.15.2007 02:30 PM

I wish I was a chick at an Akron show (be underage or over) and got dry humped without permission

I would sue the living shit right out of him

All future Akron shows would have a dry-hump warning before the perfomance

MellySingsDoom 05.15.2007 02:36 PM

A friend of mine went to see LL Cool J in concert in 1988, and when it came to his ballad "I Need Love", LL dry-humped a sofa that was on stage. No-one was impressed, according to him.

gmku 05.15.2007 02:46 PM

I think Richard Gere's incident with the Bollywood star is far more disgusting.

Toilet & Bowels 05.15.2007 02:50 PM

LL's early albums are marred by those ridiculous love raps

i do know all of that, and i completely agree with you. money is definately the problem, as it is with most things. the thing i had a problem with was the radio "musclehead" guy's argument. using flaws of causation, sensationalising and snowballing things. talking about swear words, saying all hip hop artists (yes, all) "don't have regard for moral respect for other people", denouncing "hip hop" music as completely degenerate when his opinion is obviously uninformed, from selective evidence.
to be honest, it wasn't the best account of the event that screamingskull could have posted as it seemed to be more of a "Mother's Against Noise" attack on hip hop, but there we go!

I heard today the Indian supreme court dismissed his case. He was up against India's strict obsenity laws. I think he should get life for being a total rube. What an idiot.
