Who are the band below the velvets? Amon Duul?

What is rock 'n' roll about this picture? They look like a group of overgrown indie rockers to these eyes. And what's with J Mascis's face?

Amon Duul II. Amon Duul I looked like mean and pissed off Velvets fans.

But this doesn't look like another thousand of pictures at all. Ok.

Purely for the look on Thurston's face. Not a 'band' picture, but they have recorded together so I guess.. yeah.

there's a much better version of that photo in the lords of chaos book, unfortunetly that was the closest thing i could find on the internet

Even in the "Lords Of Chaos" book, Euronymous looks, in that photo, like a bag lady who's lost her shopping trolley full of trash.

There's one from the same photo session as this one that is just perfect, but google doesn't seem to bring it up.

Same with Suicide. There'a a shot of them in black and white taken in some New York side-street, with Alan Vega seemingly asleep on a piece of carton that's been thrown on the pavement, while Martin Rev looks like he could do with some food. It's a great shot but I couldn't find it on Google and I can't be arsed to scan it.

oh well, it's probably my favourite non-immortal black metal photo.
