Was it Toilet & Bowels (under an old alias) who started helpfully posting links on the old board to the nirvana's own message boards when the nirvana-mania all got a bit overwhelming? I seem to remember that upsetting quite a few people.

I thought that it was that Leatherneck guy but i'm not sure.Wasn't the thread called 'Hey Nirvana fans,guess what?' and then you opened it and the first post said:'Nirvana have their own forum!'.Something amusing like that.

Hmm... I wonder if maybe I just have more of a life than the people this kind of thing bothers. I just generally ignore these threads (re Nirvana, MBV, et al) and figure the poor saps are finally catching on to some of the good stuff the rest of us already know and love.

Some web sites I know, fascist admin types would be in there scrounging around and deleting a bunch of this. At least here there's a health amount of free speech, if not necessarily always a healthy amount of respect for it. :)

yes agree with a lot on this thread. there are only so many times that the same ground can be gone over and the same subjects discussed before it starts to get really boring. i am pretty sick of hearing it to be honest. i wish people would open themselves up to newer types of music and embrace different genres because a lot of nirvana fans claim to be so 'alternative' but shut themsleves off from so much because the band didnt like it or something. open your ears!

I can see this point. One alternative is to have a bunch of tight-assed admins delete all duplicate threads and anything else that doesn't conform to their personal likes. Then this place could be just like RYM. So...
