A 3rd song from the new record can be found here:

It's called, "The One I Love" and - no - it's not an R.E.M. cover.

Holy Crap, I just read the Pitchfork review of their new album, and I suddenly remember why I deliberately didn't read a word of their bullshit for two or three years!

They tore its ass out! I haven't heard the record in full yet, but I can't believe that it could possibly be the epic, 360° failure that they claim it to be. Indeed, I have been excited about the album's release ever since "No More Honey," which was easily the most impressive BR single in years... Got me started on a kick of listening to their earlier material and kinda restored faith in the band for me.

I am super annoyed right now!! I fuckin' hate that site. Someone needs to give them a god damn worm so powerful that every single piece of code and data file ever associated with the pitchfork name is replaced by plushie porn gifs, and ads for Russian mail order bride services.

Anyway I'm still stoked for the new album.

The pitchfork era is over. Stereogum, consequence of sound, the Quietus, Slicing up Eyeballs have more to offer than the almighty Pitchfork.

I'm considering writing an open letter to the editor/owner/Whoever's wearing the double beer can helmet this week. Though I've never been able to determine how one goes about writing open letters that are actually read. Hmm.

SYRFox: I'm sure they were. I bought the album and I'd love to hear this new marital played live. It's their best record in years. Seriously good. That's that.

EVOLghost 09.07.2014 04:13 PM

One listen only :/(no internet at home).

I dug it. I can't wait to buy it....and unfortunately I do have to wait :(.

And I honestly wish I didn't read that review. That shit just made me livid.

Yeah, see? Even those of us who know they're full of shit can still have out outlook slightly altered by their reviews. Even if we end up feeling that the review was bullshit, we're probably more likely to feel that our support of an album is ca

Aside from a couple songs scattered on it, I don't think it's really anything special.

I see what they were going for, but I don't think they really hit it.

I didn't realize Kazu and Amedeo have split...

"On their ninth album, this New York trio – once swathed in moody synth layers and art-house dance beats – have pared down to their delicate, creaky bones. Barragán is haunted by the romantic split between singer-guitarists Kazu Makino and Amedeo Pace, most notably on the exes' spare, bewitching duet "Seven Two." The band is at its most magnetic on the single "No More Honey," where Makino warns, "I won't be sorry," in her lullaby-soft voice, just before Pace's shoegaze guitar sweeps her back in for a dreamy waltz. This record is the sound of what's left after a breakup: the push and pull of fragile and forceful, with all the veneers stripped completely away."
