I bumped into this link a while back.
An interesting read about a SCG collector and his mission to get everything. http://www.uoguelph.ca/~dhorne/scgtext.html |

Hey Elie thanks for writing The band reads this---I'm the only one here actually I dont think we could ever go and play Israel Its such a huge problem for us as I'm sure you understand.... Its too bad--I know many people there would support the show. I wish things were different Perhaps in time things will change-who knows? We can only hope for the best as always. Thanks for asking! AB/SCG |
Hmm, sounds like they have issues with Israel's policies towards Palestinians.
That leaves you with only one option... Lebanon! |
unfortunatly lebanon has issues with israel's policies towards the palestinians
|
I gathered. Too bad that in some cases politics gets in the way of music.
Ain't gonna play Sun City? Pun intended. |

just heard it today... beautiful. i was really surprised how straightforward/accessible it is, but it's really beautiful, especially the second half. |

Yes. Unfortunately if they step into Israel they won't be allowed back into most Middle Eastern countries. |
that depends, sometimes you can get a passport stamp outside of your passport. and also, if they enter through the jordanian border they might be able to enter where palestinians do, and if they only stay in the west bank then they technically stayed in palestine, not israel.
but yeah, its difficult. |

They've definitely visited Palestine. But not for many years I believe. |
where do you get this information from?

I have my sources. Also, if you've read the liner notes to Radio Palestine you'll be presented with a great anecdote by Alan Bishop. |
I've listened to Sun City Girls almost constantly this past week, I've played almost all of their full-length releases, and most of them are really good. Crossdressers is still my favorite, but they did so much briliant music.
Right now, I'm listening to Alvarius B for the first time, and it's fantastic! Blood Operatives Of The Barium Sunset is probably my favorite this far, it's like a dark and twisted singer-songwriter album but with that special SCG feeling. Highly recommended to all fans of the Girls. |
Rick just released a new cdr (Head Trauma) but think he's sold out, and will be gone for a couple of months. maybe he'll make some more copies; he certainly should.
|
cool thanks, I've been listening to the new messenger girls trio which is nice, dude's been really busy as usual.
|
Horse Cock Pephner is a fucked up and brilliant record
