sure. start wherever. there's no continuity between episodes. episode 10 of the first season may not be the best place to start actually.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.04.2009 08:33 AM

Episode 2 was outstanding.

atsonicpark 04.04.2009 08:46 AM

Glad you watched/liked!!

Friday the 13th. The remake.

I don't get it. You'd think a resurected machette-wielding psycho chasing teens in the dark woods would provide a few chills. God it was dull. So dull I started picking out plot holes. Jason keeps some chick locked up for six weeks. Did he feed her? Feed her what? Did he let her go to the bathroom? If not, why wasn't in clear she was living in her own waste? I pondered these things instead of giving two shits what happened next.

My Bloody Valentine, on the other hand, was so fast paced and fun that it didn't occur to me until I was driving home that the plot resembled swiss cheese.

Those were two of my favorite recent films.

Kloriel 04.04.2009 02:36 PM

i watched role models. mostly because of the people behind it. i was really disappointed. some funny moments, but i felt stabbed in the back because when the mainstream dismissed it as generic teen comedy etc. I maintained and said no no you ignorant bit of tarrasque poop, just watch, wait until dvd, you will see, it is a lot funnier and subtler than the mainstream said.

i was very fucking wrong. there were some subtle / dry / the state / wet hot american summerish jokes, but holy shit were they buried in a heap of garbage.

joe11121 04.04.2009 02:42 PM

I saw Fired Up. It was actually a decent movie. Lots of funny parts.

viewtiful_alan 04.04.2009 06:17 PM

8/10
Talk about a dip in momentum.. the second half of the movie (minus the ending 4th of it or so) really dropped the ball.. still pretty damn powerful though.

viewtiful_alan 04.04.2009 06:43 PM

By the way.. would anyone happen to know if there is any place I could get an affordable bootleg of 'begotten'
They had it at Half price books for $99 and I actually came back the next day to buy it but someone snatched it up

Antagon 04.04.2009 07:43 PM

Judgement at Nuremberg

atsonicpark 04.04.2009 08:04 PM

Don't spend $99 on Begotten. It's a great movie (I have a copy of it that isn't the original official copy but it looks just like the real thing, but I got it at a convention 2 years ago for $15) but it's not worth that. No movie has worth that. Have you seen it? The whole thing is on googlevideo. If you want a copy, there are bootlegs everywhere, simply go to the imdb boards and ask.

Slacker. I liked it.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.06.2009 12:51 AM

Mister Lonely.

Although, it's still my least favorite of Harmony's feature-lengths. It does grow closer to them in quality upon repeat viewings.

Bride of Chucky

Seed of Chucky

atsonicpark 04.06.2009 01:07 AM

Mister Lonely is pretty cool. So is Jennifer Titty.

There's another Chucky after Bride of Chucky?

atsonicpark 04.06.2009 06:34 AM

yeah. It's probably not worth watching unless you absolutely have to stare at her tits and see John Waters be John Waters.

Seed of Chucky is actually my favorite of the series, after Child's Play 2, of course.

atsonicpark 04.06.2009 08:41 AM

even with that annoying kid doll?

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.06.2009 08:53 AM

I can see how Glen/Glenda could get on someone's nerves with it's voice but then again the same could be said about Chucky's big breasted bride.

This one may have just been a little too much comedy for many. But, any movie with such a proud Ed Wood homage, Redman, John Waters, and so much involvement around doll semen, is absolutely outstanding in my book. And that's not even mentioning the death scenes.

noisereductions 04.06.2009 08:59 AM

^the only one I didn't see. Guess I should check it?

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.06.2009 09:02 AM

Yes, especially if you even mildly enjoyed Bride.

Rob Instigator 04.06.2009 10:41 AM

My g/f had never seen it. This movie scared me when I was 13.

LifeDistortion 04.06.2009 06:30 PM

3:10 To Yuma (2008) with Christan Bale and Russell Crowe. One of the better remakes in recent history, the original is still better.

meh. It was entertaining.

viewtiful_alan 04.07.2009 04:29 PM

I honestly was bored to death by that one. It took way to long to start going anywhere, and when it did finally pick up it wasn't worth much.

Sunday:

5.5/10

8.5/10

and last night:

5/10
Infromative but really boring...

atsonicpark 04.08.2009 03:51 AM

hero never dies: 6/10
number 3: 6/10
eye in the sky: 7/10
jubilee: 7/10
horror: 5/10
kids in the hall brain candy: 6/10

noisereductions 04.08.2009 07:16 AM

Brain Candy is so great!

I'm still bothered by the comment above about how Mr. & Mrs. Smith should be a 0/10. I gave it a 5/10 (ie: dead middle of the road.) It's not that I feel I should defend this film, but it's more I dont think ppl realize exactlly how a bold a statement it is to call something a 0/10. I've seen a LOT of films. Many that were worse than Smith. And few that I could seriously give a 0/10 (ie: devoid of even a shred of redeaming qualities). [besides, the lowest I could give anything would be a 1/10, because I use a 1-10 scale. As great as Spinal Tap is, if I gave it a 0/10 that would be on a 11-point scale system, and c'mon!]

atsonicpark 04.08.2009 07:29 AM

Yeah, a 0/10 .. very few films deserve that. Matrix Revolutions immediately comes to mind.

I'd probably give mr and mrs. smith a 4/10 personally.
