Call me crazy but these latter day JAMC platters have this vibe that to me is like 60s mod in a way. I can't quite put my finger on it. Not mod precisely like London mod but just a blissy 60s mod California vibe.

Do you know what I mean? Almost groovy.

Came home, let Chipper out, fed chipper, put the mail on the table, changed into workout clothes, put Burn Notice on the Netflix, worked out for 30 minutes. I'm doing better with the workout routine, getting back into it more regularly.

Opened and poured a beer, looked up dinner recipe, put on Automatic, put on Honey's Dead along with starting the tape machine to record it to the other side of the Automatic tape.

The only time I miss TV is when I know the new season of Mad Men is starting. Damn. I going to miss TV pretty soon.

I like Breaking Bad and Walking Dead too. The GF and I sometimes catch them when we travel and stay in America's fine hotels with cable.

New music listening strategy: Listen to the same 1 or 2 albums a lot for many consecutive days.

This replaces what I seem to have been doing for too long, which is playing a lot of different things, hardly ever the same thing more than once or twice.

This returns to a habit when I was younger of playing the same record over and over and over. In college I bought far fewer albums than I do now but I played them MORE and I suspect therefore got to know them better and maybe even enjoyed them more than I do now.

So... for the next week or so at least it is going to be nothing but:

Automatic
Honey's Dead
and the JAMC peel sessions

Damn. Wouldn't you rather stalk me. Older men are better, my dear. We just are--they've proven it.

gmku 02.22.2012 07:30 PM

ouch

But I can deal with it.

gmku 02.22.2012 07:31 PM

OMG I forgot about Royal Trux. I'll have to squeeze them in there somehow too.

LOL!!! My God, you ARE German!

By the way, I lived in Traben-Trarbach (spelling) on the Mosel for 4 years. 84-88. I loved it there. I wish I could have found a way to stay.

Everything you say just makes you sound more and more German to me. Yes, I too had a rebel phase. And then felt embarrassed but I thought it was Catholic guilt. Maybe it was really German guilt.

Did you read my edit about Traben-Trabach?

gmku 02.22.2012 07:39 PM

Just be careful about being too German. That never seems to turn out well for you guys.

gmku 02.22.2012 07:40 PM

I'm just saying in general. Don't start singing about the Fatherland and all that.
