no way. This was back in like 2000 I believe. I've moved a lot of times since then. but a quick google finds me a pic of what it looked like: ![]() thinking back, I guess it came directly from Smells Like Records' online store, oh shit http://www.musicstack.com/item/148601088 so this bag I got for free back then costs $60+ now. Nice. |

Yes it's on ebay now but I don't think it's cool. Could it be from from nicfit's recording? The date is 2008-10-11 EDIT: It's $45 (£29) + P+P ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sonic-Youth-Stalbau-Pichler-Live-Italy-2008-Set-2-CD-alternative-rock-/120786251984?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1c1f6bf0d0 |

As far as I know nicfit's recording is the only source for that date. If you look at the guy's feedback you can see he's making a tidy profit from selling bootlegs - I guess Ukrainian copyright laws are lax. |
http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?label=J-Plane&ev=lb
lol. J-plane label, uhm, googlin'... http://subratin.blogspot.com/2011/01...u-pichler.html here, you can compare the source (I don't even have my recording on this pc...), even if it's an mp3 rip. It's Stahlbau, too... "Released: 10 Nov 2008" and it's october 11, not november 10, double lol, unless they "released" this almost exatly a month later than the acutal gig... |
I don't think it is yr recording nic, I just checked my hd and I found that I already had this bootleg ripped to flac (I can't remember where I got it). After a quick comparison I'd say the bootleg sounds better to me. I have to go out now but I'll look into it more later.
|
Yep, listening to the mp3s, NOT my recording.
Less lols then. Not a big fan of the sound (a bit too "thin" and reverberated), but no doubt mine had its "flaws" (due to pogoing and stuff etc), so it's a nice additional source for sure! Judging by the sound and "crowd noises" I'd say they recorded it from a more stage-distant spot. I'll have a better listen when I can. Perhaps the 2 sources could be mixed :D? |

I remember a tour pass with that design, perhaps if you search ebay for tour passes you can derive the year! :)

(All that said, it's been at least 5 years since I last ordered from them.) |

I'd say the same. Quite expensive but when I did buy from there the product was always mint condition unless otherwise stated. They do have offers on all the time though and sometimes big reductions in price so it worth keep checking in... |

I used to have that; probably still have it somewhere in a drawer all worn out with holes in it. I got it at their Paradiso show in '98. |
