I've just completed side one, and the timing was so perfect that the tape ended just as ___ ____'s '_____ ______' faded out!

And oh my God, are you in for a treat at the start of side two. Oh yes you are.

I'VE FINISHED MY MIX!!!!!

now it's just a matter of mastering the songs, doing the artwork, burning it and sending it. i'll be sending it by friday pretty much for sure.

porky: fire up the tape deck! my mix is coming your way!

Hip Priest 08.16.2006 07:25 AM

I've almost finished the recording - I just have to wait till the weekend for the short but vital closing piece to be added.

I've put a couple of longer tracks on this time, notably an 11-minute song.

sonicl 08.16.2006 07:34 AM

I've just put mine in the post to you, Pookie.

Hip Priest 08.16.2006 07:37 AM

I think I've decided on the cover art.

gmku 08.16.2006 08:33 AM

I've been thinking a lot about mine. What do people think of Marianne Faithful's Broken English album? I want to start off with the title cut. It's been a favorite of mine for years, but how do SY fans in general feel about her stuff? Or should I even care what you think? I'm also thinking some Prince from Dirty Mind and some Mick Taylor period Stones, along with more recent things.

porkmarras 08.16.2006 08:35 AM

Broken English is the easiest choice but the best one nonetheless.I dig some Marianne every now and then. The old bag can belt them out nicely when she wants.

Pookie 08.16.2006 08:46 AM

I like Marianne Faithful, although when I'm doing mine I start struggling when I think, Will anybody like this? You've got to just do it and not second guess too much.

Hopefully everybody's got an open mind enough to give anything a listen.

Very true.

Hip Priest 08.16.2006 08:49 AM

Really, in this situation you've got to make the mixtape for yourself, I feel. The tpe could go to any one of a dozen or more people. How many is it now?

gmku 08.16.2006 08:52 AM

That's the approach I'm taking. Putting together a tape I myself would play.

Pookie 08.16.2006 08:52 AM

If everybody sends the tapes they've promised, it'll be about 20 this time.

sonicl 08.16.2006 08:55 AM

Pookie - I posted mine half an hour ago. Has it reached you yet? I'm only about six miles from you right now, so it shouldn't take too long.

porkmarras 08.16.2006 08:56 AM

Is it walking or driving?

Pookie 08.16.2006 08:57 AM

Where are you then? Are you not at work?

(Techno cat is my favourite:D )

sonicl 08.16.2006 08:59 AM

No, I'm at work. I work near Thorpe Park.

porkmarras 08.16.2006 08:59 AM

Those cats are hilarious.I post mine from work because:
1)It's here and it seems to be cheaper
2)I can't make it to the post office anyway.

Pookie 08.16.2006 09:07 AM

I thought you worked in the S place!

sonicl 08.16.2006 09:08 AM

No, that's where I "live".

Pookie 08.16.2006 09:10 AM

Oh how confusing! I thought you lived near your girlfriend or do you just use her address for the tapes?

And what does "live" mean?
