I wrote a thing on Ride's new album for my blog. TL;DR the first five tracks are great, the rest are mediocre. https://sevenninefiveseven.wordpress...fe-place-2019/

comes out at the end of the month but they just played their launch here (melbourne) so got a copy there. it’s really special, very much stripped back even further (drum machine + guitar + vox, that’s it), would say the earlier singles from last year are more sonically advanced than the rest of it actually. different structures, different songwriting approach, more expressive/emotive

yes indeed. There will also be a "making of" documentary movie that will be released at the same time. But no touring unfortunately. He decided that he will be working on a very long list of movie projects for the coming year or so

DT: What is that fuckin' racket?!

Assistant: It's a tropical storm, Mr. President.

DT: Well turn it down!

Assistant: I'm sorry, sir, there's nothing we can do about it. It's a tropical fuck storm.

DT: What did you just say to me?!

Assistant: A tropical FUCK storm, sir. It used to be drones.

DT: What?! I can't hear ya!

Assistant: AUSTRALIAN DRONES, sir. But they got pissed off because you wouldn't do jack shit about climate change, or anything else for that matter, and you keep shitting on the world in every fucking possible way imaginable, so they mutated into a TROPICAL FUCK STORM.

DT: Fuck you!!!

Assistant: No, tropical FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE!

From the archival department: some of Kath Bloom & Loren Connors' albums from the first half of the '80sMoonlight, Sand In My Shoe and Restless Faithful Desperate, if I'm not mistaken— are being reissued, the first two I just named on October 4, the third out now.

This is tremendous and I'm hoping someone here is willing to be my getaway driver, because I'm robbing a liquor store in order to buy 'em.
