He brought Bleach up out of nowhere. It's not even pertinent to this conversation (unless he makes the case that Bleach deserves to be on the list or something, which he's not).

Daddylikes 07.17.2006 07:36 AM

Toilet, just like in America nobody cares about Blur, Oasis or the Stone Roses.

So what's your point?

RdTv 07.17.2006 07:40 AM

Hendrix should be closer to the top than the spice girls. That's simply rediculous.

You said that Nirvana was on the Iggy/Pixies tip - I bought up Bleach to dispute that. I thought we were talking about Nirvana at this point in the thread, not about Nevermind specifically.

Daddylikes 07.17.2006 07:44 AM

Well, you won't make that mistake again, will you?

:D

porkmarras 07.17.2006 07:45 AM

It's depressing. One can't chat about music without some fucking stupid teenager throwing his fucking negativity about.

Daddylikes 07.17.2006 07:48 AM

Porkie, are you going through your midlife crisis again?

porkmarras 07.17.2006 07:51 AM

No.

porkmarras 07.17.2006 07:51 AM

the point being, that the list was compiled and published a british newspaper, it is written from a british perspective, with the british mainstream in mind, and expected to be read by british readers, who understand that the stone roses are 10,000,000 times more inflential to music in this country than anything recorded by ian mackaye.

Maybe I spoke too soon.

I'm still waiting for someone to defend how Nirvana's Nevermind changed music more than Marvin Gaye's (timeless) "What's Going On?"

RdTv 07.17.2006 01:23 PM

You will wait forever my friend, because there is no way that Nirvana changed anything but a couple of diapers. They are dead, some loved em', some liked em' and I didn't feel either of those for em'. Everyone needs to forget that Nirvana happened, there was/is/will be much better music available.

Rob Instigator 07.17.2006 01:24 PM

Nirvana changed nothing. they peaked something (the punk/indie/alternative to radio scene) they were influential in the worst way.

Cantankerous 07.17.2006 01:25 PM

oh please don't start this again, i'm kind of hung over.

Daddylikes 07.17.2006 01:26 PM

RdTV, I got negatively repped (without explanation) for expounding my opinion that you'd have to be retarded to think that Nevermind was more influential than What's Going On? So I assumed my opinion was wrong and was waiting for the argument/explanation...

Ho-Hum.

Cantankerous 07.17.2006 01:26 PM

i just chipped my fucking tooth on a beer bottle.

Go listen to Pretty On The Inside.

I know it's your fave album of the 90's.

You must spread around some more reputation before giving it to DaddyLikes again.

MARVIN GAYE! was more influential and changed music more than Nirvana.
