Has anyone mentioned on this thread the genius that is Carolanne Pegg? I have discovered her a few years ago through a song called 'Winter People' and never looked back.

Anyone heard anything by the band Stone Angel? They keep being mentioned in articles but never enough to say what they're actually like.

So a month or two ago I made a blind buy of Ed Askew-Little Eyes. He plays this thing called a tipple which sounds kind of like a mandolin but tuned lower. Anyway, the cd is fucking awesome. Just thought you all should know.

Working link now

I recorded some Irish/ English fiddle tunes the other night. These are the largely unedited versions, with a couple of improvisations included. Second fiddler on some of the tracks is my housemate. It's a pretty rough recording, but I'm quite pleased with most of it.

TheFoxBen 08.07.2010 08:07 AM

Glice, your link is kinda wrong :/

Glice 08.07.2010 08:51 AM

Thanks, fixed.

TheFoxBen 08.07.2010 09:13 AM

Thanks, I'll listen to your music when I have the time, I usually like folk stuff.

Glice 08.07.2010 09:15 AM

It's not my usual thing, but I'm probably going to give it a crack soon because there's more money in function bands than my usual mewling nonsense.

Green_mind 08.07.2010 01:46 PM

that's ace Glice! rocking the fiddle, I want a go.

VERY high-quality darkward-leaning acid folk from the early 1970s, reissued by Gary Ramon in the 1990s. One of my favorites of the era. They morphed into a group called Midwinter, which had a reissue on Kissing Spell around the same time. Also very good. Excellent musicianship, great voices and words.
